Steves Hogarth and Rothery, from progressive rock legends Marillion, in conversation with Andy Rawll about the band's forthcoming UK tour (November 2019) and the new studio CD that features re-recordings of nine tracks from across their career, enhanced by string and brass instrumentation. Find out more in the 'Behind the Scenes' video on the Official Marillion on-line channel: • Marillion - With Frien... .
Both also reflect on their respective anniversaries with the band: Hogarth at thirty and Rothery at forty years since joining the band, with a particular perspective on their recorded live pinnacle at London's Royal Albert Hall on November 2017.
They consider the evolution of the lyrical themes in recent album releases as well as discussing the way the band approaches the creative process in the studio. This includes a perspective on their past respective solo side-projects, including 'Ice Cream Genius' and 'Ghosts of Pripyat'.
Finally, they reflect on the band's role as a pioneer in the use of the internet to promote and market the band, as early as 1999 with the Marillion.com album and 2001 with 'Anoraknophobia' when they finally took full control of their artistic destiny, as an independent and label-free band.
