They needed something, someone to blame for the shootings so they chose Marilyn Manson since he was a "satanist" . He had lyrics and an image that America didn't like. He was an easy target to blame for violence. In the end, those shooters were not Marilyn Manson fans and neither of them were wearing a mansion t-shirt while shooting up the school. It was another ridiculous rumour made up to hurt Manson's career and paint him as the most awful person alive. When in reality, Dylan and Eric are 100x worse than Manson.
