Nemoris Inferioris he doesn’t limit himself. He knows who he is, and is not afraid of that. People always refer to him as intelligent however I think they miss the component that he’s EMOTIONALLY intelligent. He’s honest about who he is. He’s not guarded in his art and feelings. He’s brave with his emotions and thoughts. He allows his mind to roam and free associate in a steady stream of consciousness. Which is extremely rare and even rarer still in someone in the public eye. It’s also why people love him or hate him. By love and hate I mean people love him or they’re SCARED of him. Especially people who want to remain in shackles emotionally.

Hooded 19, until September 11, 2001, we fans could submit questions to him on the message board of his past website. It was really cool bc he'd answer some of the more intriguing ones once or twice a week. He added an art gallery so that we could see his watercolors, photos, and read his thoughts about things. I truly miss that sense of closeness, of community he fostered. Back then, he had a disproportionate number of miscreants as fans bc they were attracted to the anger, not to the actual man. On that Thursday in 2001, Marilyn had a letter posted. Based off what he wrote, many "fans" had used his message board to celebrate the four terror attacks, reveling in the destruction of innocent American lives, and wrongly assuming Marilyn was feeling the same jubilation. Marilyn expressed his disgust that anyone would think he felt any malicious joy, that he wouldn't feel as saddened as the rest of America. When the letter was removed about three days later, so was access to his website. I've been a loyal fan of his since '94. As I tell my students, the rotten apples ruining the entire basket adage is bitterly true. I do love your suggestion, and I hope the same thing you do. ✨

It seems like most of MM's interviews are the host noting how normal he is or how nice he actually is, etc. And then he responds "Well, I am a real person..." It's just weird that he even has to explain that he has friends and loved ones and that if you're nice and respectful to him, he'll treat you the same.

Thats the problem with interviews. They make you analyse yourself in relation to your own historical backstory. You're forced, or at the very least persuaded into justifying who you believe you are. And while Manson may come across intelligent. I feel he would never be strong enough to disentangle himself from his egotistical view of himself.
@confounded_feline8 жыл бұрын
His view of himself, as Manson, that ego is him. Manson represents who he is or must be. He's simultaneously himself and his art. Does that make sense? I find it hard to explain, but as far as I understand this is how he views it and why I think you identify why it would be impossible to disentangle himself from this image. It's because he IS that image, his art changes and he must live up to it and through it. I'd imagine this would cause you a lot of grief over the years if you were the kind of person he is. Stagnation = death. A long time ago mind during the Antichrist Superstar tour, In his own words: "The reason I haven't copped out in an interview and said, "Yeah it's just a character, this is just a concept album", is because to me it is so much more. But in a sense it is. That's why when people ask, "Well is it an act or isn't it?" it's both. I mean my whole life is an act, but that's my art"
