It was not just her walk but the way she moved when supposedly sitting still. It was subtle and slight but she continually kept her body in motion in a sort of gentle undulation, a barely perceptible roll of her shoulder, a deeper breath than usual, a shift at the hip. She remained aware of her entire body and whether deliberate or not on her part, the audience remained aware of it too. It was marvelous to watch her move while she was holding still.

When I was a teen back in the 60s, we imitated the hip swinging by doing a sort of ballet step. Instead of each foot moving directly forward, making two lines stretching out in front of us, we imagined one line, like a tightrope. Then we would walk, trying to keep our heels along that imaginary line with our toes somewhat angled outward. I just tried it (picture chubby little old lady, prancing across her living room floor! 😆). Seems to be working!

Living with pride of feminity is so powerful. Love you mentioning this. I'm a feminist and some people assume that wanting improved standard of living should mean I don't adore being a woman. Glad to be reminded that another woman with a good conscience also loves her womanhood. Fortunately I have a slight limp already lol. So I'm halfway into Marilyn's walk. 😂

Marilyn had a short stride for several reasons. She was short at 5'5" with short legs which results in a shorter stride. The conscious effort to increase hip sway forced her to compensate with shorter steps to maintain her balance. Holding her head and shoulders relatively immobile brought more attention to her waddle because the eye is drawn to motion. The shorter strides made her seem more dainty and demure. There are cultures where women wear long narrow skirts, that hobble their legs and force them into taking tiny steps which is considered more feminine, for example the Japanese kimono.

Marylin also studied movement so she read a book that had an illustration indicating to walk as if a balloon 🎈 was attached and pulling streight up indicating good posture alignment and being light on the feet She also took many classes such as dance, horse back, fencing, and did free weights …all to stay fit, toned, flexible, graceful

She was famously known to not wear underwear, which no doubt made her feel sexy, confident, and gave her walk a little more movement. For the everyday woman: wear undergarments that are pretty/sexy/feel good to you: that subconsciously gives a woman a more feminine walk. Try it!

I loved how you said that we know we are strong. That was so inspiring and you really uplifted and freed the divine feminine when you said that! You look gorgeous when you let go and sway your hips! I hope one day I can let go of feeling too sexy when I walk that way and allow myself to do that because my hips hurt trying to walk masculine to blend in with everyone else and not stick out. I am afraid to let my femininity show for safety reasons feeling that I will be talked to by too many men so I masculinize and blend in. I wish with all my heart I could be more like you and just let go without fear. I am afraid to have something happen to me and be blamed because I was dressed too feminine or because I was asking for it. But I deeply crave to live like this and be this way in every aspect and reclaim my feminine without these fears. I am also afraid of other women getting jealous and being mean to me because I am cranking up the volume on how pretty I could be if I let go. I am afraid to make women mad at me and men "aroused" and hurt me or follow me.

@@malenamatisse A sizeable amount of the people who watch your videos are men like the one you responded to (he is a man) who are aroused by thinking of themselves as women, crossdressing, and being perceived as women. When he typed what he typed, he typed it with one hand. When you responded, it excited him, because being perceived by others when they are being feminine is part of their 'romantic' interest. Their autogynephilia. No woman would ever type what he typed. Even a woman who is very feminine doesn't talk like that. That's how I could tell he was male. That is the audience you court when you promote this idea of the illusive feminine essence. it's something constructed by males, for males, even though women perform femininity. You promote an idea that some women may embrace, (to their detriment in my opinion, as they are chasing this idea of being a Real Woman or That Girl, which doesn't exist, it's a man's idea of a woman). But the true people who benefit from this femininity coaching nonsense are men. Whether they like to see women act that way, or they are excited by the idea of themselves being feminine (google autogynephilia). Is this the life you want to live? is that the audience you want to cater to? We get one life, and we can never get our time back. We all make choices, but in the end, or choices make us.

I think thats very beautiful, because you are worth it. But I also think that it shouldnt be expected of woman to make such an effort. If you choose so, fine - if you dont, also fine. Good Tip 😉
@mobstercrow75154 ай бұрын
Yes! The glutes are the most important muscle. You need it to walk, stand, go up or down stairs, jump, lift, and more. Your glutes and leg muscles are the most important. Most leg exercises help build the core too. Arms aren't important at all.
@NiinaSKlove4 ай бұрын
@@mobstercrow7515But how do you do glutes workout without getting “big” muscles in your thighs? Especially if you build muscle really easily. And secondly: how do you do a glute workout when you have a problematic ankle? It seems like squats are the most used workout to get bigger glutes, but for me that’s not an option. 🏋️
@mobstercrow75154 ай бұрын
@@NiinaSKlove You need your thigh muscles too. It would be hard to grow huge thigh muscles like a body builder. Most women believe that doing a few workouts will make them look like a body builder but that isn't true. Look at bikini models before they prepare for a competition. They look like normal women before competitions. During prep for competitions they do a "cut" which means they burn a lot of fat, it makes their muscles look more noticeable. You won't get giant massive thighs without cutting, lifting weights, eating a proper diet, and going to the gym daily while using a personal trainer, it just won't happen. Your thighs also do a lot of work so you should work on building them too, all leg muscles are very important. You can do perfectly fine without arm muscles, but you won't do good without leg muscles. You use your legs for EVERYTHING you do. You even use your legs while you do arm workouts and core workouts. Muscle and strength are very important. When you get older you will lose muscle over time and it will be harder to do every day activities which is why you need to work on building them now so you will have them later on.

When it comes to locomotion, I give a nod to Cate Blanchett and Lena Headey. That is not because they had a cute girlie jiggle. It is because they both can carry elaborate and magnificent costume as if born to them. I specify Cate when she played Elizabeth I and Lena as Cersei in Game of Thrones. They wore heavy gowns done in yards of fabric, many with long trains. Those ladies used those gowns to express their characters as if an extension of their character with a swish of the train, a stiffening of posture, etc. They made it into an art form.

Women move with a natural side sway due to anatomy, specifically the structure of the pelvis. The female pelvis has a large central opening to accommodate childbirth. As a direct consequence, a woman's leg bones are set into the hip joints at a slight angle. A man's leg bones are set on the vertical which is one of the primary reasons men can run faster than woman. The male skeletal structure is more efficient for forward locomotion. Women lose a bit of forward motion to useless side sway. The male of our species is wired to be attracted to that sway because nature's goal is reproduction.

That’s right, it’s the anatomical reason why men and women walk differently.

Poor Marilyn; I wish people would let her rest in peace. Her "walk" was created by too tight dresses with a very narrow fit at the knees and high heels. The dress and heels forced her to take small steps, creating her "walk". If she had lived to see the min-skirt, she would have had a different "walk". Marilyn created her sexy-ness, and after she got it, she complained about "...being a thing; I am not a thing..."

@@malenamatisse Marilyn remains such an icon even so many decades later! Can you imagine the star power and impact she would have had on women, and the world, had she received love and support instead of abuse and trauma? We need more of Monroe! ❤

On Marilyn it doesn’t look forced at all to me. On today’s woman, yes, of course…..very forced.

@@ropi8739Dear, my video is not about role models for women or the sad private life of Marilyn, but about walking femininely and I am taking one aspect from Marilyn’s movement which I and many women find inspiring with regard to moving. There are many more other inspiring women with regard to movement and walk. I understand your concerns about Marilyn’s struggles, but there is no need for over-interpretation, most Ladies here know about Marilyn’s story, that doesn’t mean we cannot honor her movement and find it inspiring, no matter if acted or not.

Its so cute that Marilyn mimicked the walk of black women and how they move naturally. Marilyn mimicked Dorothy Dandrige's Everything. Her hair style, her style of dress, her makeup including Dorothy's moles on her face, and of course her Walk. They were in fact friends and Marilyn copied her.❤

Why not just walk like yourself, why does everyone have be like everyone else! We have enough cookie cutters walking around all looking and dressing the same. What happened to uniqueness? It no longer exists!

My channel is all being unique and your best feminine self, but there is nothing wrong with getting inspiration from the most talented women in the world and it is also very interesting to analyse 😉🌹

This comment is quite funny to me considering the video. Nobody walks around like Marilyn Monroe at all, so if anything it is against the norm to want to walk like her. And considering your profile picture is Frida Kahlo, and not yourself, I’m sure you understand that there is nothing wrong with inspiriation. If you copy your whole look and act from Marilyn, yes your point applies, but there is nothing wrong with being inspired by different aspects of a range of people. I can go even further by saying that no one is 100% truly unique, there is always someone you learnt certain mannerism from and copied without realising, so what is the issue with doing it on purpose? Your point about cookie cutters does not apply to this video or channel. There is always something you have in common with someone else; everyone is unique and everyone is alike, that is life! You are not as unique as you think you are, it’s become very common nowadays for people to click and then interact with a video they know they won’t like at all, and comment something that is not constructive or based on genuine reality 😂

marilyn was taught how to walk and stand and while not even working she kept those mannerisms with her even when press came to her home to speak to her.

Marilyn walked that way because she had an HOURGLASS/COKE BOTTLE FIGURE. Only about 8% of women have this.
@malenamatisse3 ай бұрын
That was one reason why the effect of the walk was so extreme, but it is not the responsible aspect that made her walk like that. 😊
