XG is just simply amazing. What girl group on the planet is doing what XG is doing at the level they are doing it? No one. Period. They literally can do anything & everything. Elite rapline, elite vocalists, elite dance crew. This group of 7 young women of XG are IT. This is such old skool R&B 90s/early 2000s perfection. The entire world needs to wake up on XG. People sleepwalking on XG are really missing out big time. This is currently #1 on the U.S. iTunes R&B chart as it should be.

Yes, Jurin is deemed the actual leader. If you watch their interviews, the group expresses this repeatedly. One can tell that she has leader energy and presence without that confirmation, but she was handpicked for that role and even expresses this in the Chill Bill rap with the verse: "Girl gotta lead" while also showing her humility in the Tape 2 Xpher when she raps, "I don't lead, I get lit with them." The beautiful and unique quality about this group is that the talent and vocals of each girl are equally featured and highlighted in every performance. I've actually never seen this done so perfectly in another group. The commenter who questioned Jurin's position as group leader may be thinking of leadership in an America or Western context. In Asian culture, leadership is more about earned respect, guidance, and keeping the team on track toward goals--perhaps even acting as a role model. It's not about always standing in front and hogging all the performance time! I remember one scene in the documentary that tracked their training, when all the candidates competing to become XG were dismissed by an angry choreographer for not remembering all the steps to the practiced dance. It was Jurin who courageously stepped up the next day on behalf of all the girls and apologized to the teacher asking forgiveness and then promising that they all would be more prepared. This quality is likely why the rest of the girls, even though some are slightly older than her, feel happy under Jurin's leadership. I have a soft spot for Maya and Cocona, but Jurin is definitely *that* girl.
