Marina has gone public with a twitter account and is starting to show up in more and more productions. Still nowhere near Hinata's workload but she is getting there. Ayami is now also back in japan after polishing her talents and learning new ones. The next couple of years will be interesting for the SG alumni.

Is Marina the weirdest girl to have ever gone through Sakura Gakuin? So many of these girls are funny, but Marina is just off in her own world. Hey, at least she seems completely at home in her weirdness. You can't not smile.

Soufriere She is choppy in her movements and irregular in she is over-moving in interactions. Not awkward or clumsy as one would get an impression. Well, kinda awkward, but in an endearing way. Animated would be a closer impression. People like this wear their expressions on their bodies as well as their faces. Did you see where Ayami gently pointed it out? Or thought it something very special and inquired about it. Very astute girl, Ayami is. I know a guy that does the same thing; people are annoyed by it and often call him on it. He had no idea why some people sometimes call him a spaz. He confided to me about it so I just showed him a video of Marina's interactions as an example. (He tries to be more self contained now.) He and Marina overmove in exaggerated jerky movements or over react maybe, and are always smiling. All that is good and cute in a girl, bad and spastic in a male as society expects guys to be sullen, girls to be expressive, I guess. Marina is absolutely loveable and very memorable because of this characteristic. She also has a good singing voice; was depended on, along with the other talented students, to fill some of the huge gap when Sakura Gakuin's powerhouse Suzuka graduated.

I really do think she is the weirdest. And honestly, that's what I LOVE about her. The original cast were almost all oddballs. Nene bit people. Hinata was.. hilariously quirky and had the nose of a bloodhound. Moa was the clingy space-invader. Ayami had that bizarre sense of humor. Su was.. well, goofy as fuck.. Airi was hilariously aloof. Yui was super innocent and cute to ridiculous degrees.. Every single member had their own charm. Marina will always be a standout. Her just being -her- made her so entertaining to watch. It's kind of crazy that Ayaka and Raura were more or less the normal or 'boring' ones. But there is no way to consider ANY of them actually boring. It's not like SG has really slowed down. The first few years of SG cemented it as legendary just based on how great the personalities were.

Couldn't agree more with you on her. She is charming and honestly, her gestures made me like her a LOT more. Her singing was more than just good. Very talented in many aspects. She was easily the most expressive when doing the dances, and very controlled there. Her energy comes through, and she really is impressive. Honestly, there were a LOT of very talented girls. None of them really had the power Su had in their voices. Ooga came closest, imo. But Marina was no slouch. Neither was Moa. The weakest singers int he history of SG were Ayaka and Airi, and they were still good singers. Marina will always be one of my absolute favorites from SG. I hope she's still as expressive and lively, because that really was what made her so damn charming.

That's a tough one. But I think it comes down more to personal preference, or rather. Personally, I liked Ayaka's -voice- better than Rinon's. But in terms of actual control, pitch etc, Rinon was better at it. But, to be fair, Rinon had a lot more time to work on it, and Ayaka even said that she wasn't a singer. The only thing I could -really- disagree on in terms of your ranking of the best would be Marina and Aiko. I think Marina was better than Aiko, honestly. But again, that is also personal opinion,. I've heard people claim that, from a professional standpoint Ayami was the best singer (at least during their time in Sakura Gakuin). I'd say that by now, post-Sakura Gakuin, Suzuka is easily the best singer. I'm not saying Ayaka was a -weak- singer. Not by a long shot, btw. I'm saying that even though she and Airi were technically the weakest singers, they were still amazing. That's the level of talent Sakura Gakuin has had over the years. Though.. If I'm honest, some of the -current- Nendos might have some singers that aren't as good as them. But I haven't really listened to them as much.

Have you seen the recent model-shots uploaded to her Amuse profile shortly before her 20th b'day? She IS beautiful. But if you look into her eyes, you can still see fairies. I don't think she's gotten much saner with age, and I'm glad of that.

Soufriere Thanks for that, never been to Amuse website before, I've just checked it out now.... and fell in love😍 No, seriously, what a beautiful, young woman, she looks stunning in that grey top. Just like many people before us, me and my daughter, we've discovered SG after Babymetal. Those japanese girls are simply fantastic, not only as role models but simply as a human beings, so talented, polite, well mannered, with great sense of humor, it is a different world compared to western culture and its useless, shitty idols (Bieber, Cyrus, etc.). Just when we thought it can't get any better than Babymetal's trio, we came across SG and it blew us away, songs like Friends, Gambare, Hoshi, My Graduation Toss are so super duper cool.

Yeah. You know I'm pretty sure one of the things Amuse (i.e. Kuramoto-sensei) considers when deciding who will join Sakura Gakuin is personality. Out of the 33 current and former members, almost all of them are known to be friendly and polite -- Some, like Suzuka and Ayaka, are nice but reserved; while for others, like Yui or Moa or Saki Shirai, the kindness is 100% genuine. Marina is simply Marina. There is no explaining her. 😛

That's Ayaka Miyoshi. 5:06 upper-left is Airi Matsui. The original two towers of Sakura Gakuin. They're still close friends and both have successful careers in acting and modeling, which can hardly be surprising.

They didn't censor Marina at all. It's just what she said was half gibberish so the translator used random symbols.
