@@flaky9999 I know how a lot of people say, oh, I wish fewer people knew about this band, ‘cause I want them to be underground, however, that’s not the case. Ngl, Marina changed as an artist. I prefer her first albums and works. Lyrics were relatable and music was different, too. But I appreciate her new image and changed sound. Ariana Grande or whoever we’ve talked about, is so much different from what Marina represents. Pop music which covers a lot of listeners will always be more popular than anything alt-ish. So.. do we want this kind of clout for every artist? I doubt that.
@primadonna52144 жыл бұрын
@@opnval marina debuted in 2010 (technically 2008 if you count her singles) and she hasn't become a household name even though she has inspired many artists such as melanie martinez, billie eilish, kim petras, etc. Marina is more involved in her own art than most mainstream artists and she just doesnt get the credit she deserves because she isnt given the attention she deserves. It's such a shame because she is extremely talented.
@opnval4 жыл бұрын
@@primadonna5214 that’s the point. Y’all basically answered your own question. I wish Marina got all the attention she deserves, but let’s get real. Indeed, she is involved in her own art. She cares about what she does and how she does. You even contrasted her with other “mainstream” artists, which implies she’s not that mainstream. With that being said, Marina might get fewer views and less attention. Not to be snobbish, but sometimes it’s better to be less well-known but have a more supportive and “woke” audience.

Same people we can thank for why men are still genitally mutilated in the US, (same people who created Kellog's Cornflakes to combat masturbation... no not a joke) are the same people we can thanks for the Salem Witch trials: the Puritans. An isolated community falling to hysteria is not odd, sad but surely precedented. Was never on a grand scale though.

Yeah, well the problem with today's feminism and Masculinism is that half of them are sexists. The situation has now escalated to the point when 'feminists and Masculinisists' (the sexists who call themselves those terms which is deeply insulting the actual fem. and mas.) think that the point of this is women ruling over men or men making women shut up. So in the end, they're curing sexism with even more sexism. Much people nowdays don't realize that just splitting the genders to: women and men (Feminism and Masculinism) is already supporting the thought of female and male genders being two completely different species of creatures. Another problem is that when both sides talk about the other one, they have this prepared example: a crazy, blond, unattractive lesbian lady who eats cats, and an grey, white, fat billionaire who rapes little girls on daily basis. And than eats them. And the worst part in this madness is that when you actually point these problems (there's a lot more of them, but I don't want to make this into even more of an essay) they're like: 'yeah well now we're talking about women/men., Which is ridiculous, because this isn't an problem of only one gender, but the whole society. Or, even more annoying statement: they'll accuse you for being a 'pick me' or a racist, sexist, disgusting, stupid, crazy sociopath, who was locked down in an basement and manipulated into agreeing with the other side. So...i don't think I have any left hope for humanity 🤦
@kee73743 жыл бұрын
@@roksad89 no I honestly think you’re incredibly defensive and foolish. Men don’t grow up hearing “you throw like a boy” or are sexualized while also being told to fear sex. Men will never understand how all these tiny things add up to making it the most frustrating thing to be a woman. Do not compare feminists to you, because you cannot possibly understand even if you tried.
@roksad893 жыл бұрын
@@kee7374 boys aren't sexualized?? You obviously don't have a brother, or another man in family, or you're the defensive one. Have you never heard : ,you can't do that, she's a girl!' We could beat boys in school but they didn't have the right to fight back. 'Because we're girls'. Boys aren't allowed to play with anything other than cars and dinosaurs, otherwise the parents are teaching them how to be 'girly', and girls aren't allowed to play with cars or dinosaurs, otherwise they're 'manly'. Really, how long will it take for people like you to realize that feminism isn't about ruling over men, but trying to make SOCIETY realize that sexism still exists, not only for women, and it's the same issue as any other human rights violation. When will we start dealing with sexism without making it a war between genders? People like you are so childish. You're saying that men would never understand the sexism girls have to go through, but you yourself are refusing to at least try to understand the sexism men have to go through, so are you really any better? Also, I'm not a feminist, there are bigger issues in the world today, and i never said i am. Don't know where you got that.

This song is the little sister of Savages, To Be Human and Can't Pin Me Down. So feminist with a strong message. Marina just came to save us on this year. What a queen

Marina sings beautifully as always, but the lurics baffeling, since men have it more hard than women in western world. There is nothing feminist about this song, it's just weird in a way.

@@bryggmastaren Katy Perry sucks. “I Kissed a Girl” makes my ears bleed. It’s specifically about straight girls experimenting with lesbians because they only see us as a fetish toy and yet somehow the queer community runs with it as some sort of anthem while it openly and gleefully disrespects us. And on top of that she wrote an entire song called “You’re So Gay” in which she makes fun of a guy for being effeminate and then tells him to kill himself. And she’s racist because she called Rihanna a hood rat more than once. God, I hate Katy Perry. She is never seeing the pearly gates.

This song is beautiful, powerful, it describes exactly what this world is, a world designed by men for men, whoever doesn't fit the traditional mannish standards is out, mother nature included.
