That shore power set up was scary looking-that could’ve been a major calamity.boat,dock,lift-all torched.I was watching and thinking-“don’t touch that thing”… That toilet platform could’ve been from them over tightening that from the factory.that hard surface material can be fragile if it’s stressed too much-either that or someone needs to go on a diet😝good video Justin-

I had to film the shore power when I seen it. Was something you don't see much. You are right about over tightening the bolts. That seems to be what happened. I don't really ever see a problem like that and we have sold a couple dozen 36 XOs. 😊

It seems there are more and more maintenance issues with the newer boats. Is it just a issue of abuse and not being taken care of or is the quality and materials being compromised. It has become apparent that there is more money spent on repairs on newer boats now then ever before. As always another great video showing basic repairs and dealing with manufacturers changes. Keep them coming.

Great work Justin. I am a new 2022 Pursuit DC 326 owner from Sarasota Quality Boats and I learn a lot from your videos. Had my boat pulled yesterday to look at the bow thruster. Surprise the prop flew off. Was really surprised at the volume of water in the bilge that the marina drained before putting the boat back in the water. What causes this? Solid stream of water out of the drain plug for minutes. Concerned that the bilge pump is not doing its job. Marina crew said all the boats have water in the bilge and a G-W drains for minutes every time. Does not seem right.

Thank you and I would have to inspect the boat to figure out where the water is coming from. They usually always have some water in the bilge but not as much as you seem to have. I would put it in the water and inspect all the components for leaks.

Ok. Makes sense, but why wouldn't the bilge pumps get rid of excess water?

That depends on if the float switch is working correctly. You will always have a little water in the bilge but it shouldn't be excessive

Justin--really enjoy these videos. Is most of the work you are doing on these boats covered by the mfr's warranty or is this work you are doing for customers after the warranty has expired and the customer is paying an hourly rate for the repairs?? Thanks, and keep the videos coming!!

Thank you and yes most of what I do is warranty work. It's probably 80/20 on the percent scale. Our typical customer will trade the boat within a few years so they are always in a warranty period. It also helps that we sell more Gradys, Tiaras, Regals, and Pursuits then almost every other dealer in the country. Thanks for watching😄

Informative video. You certainly know how to repair almost anything! I was a bit alarmed at the number of issues with the Regal. I am considering buying a Regal 38 SAV -- do you think Regals are put together OK? Have you worked on a 38 SAV? Let me know if you or anyone at your dealership has opinions on the 38 SAV, good or bad. Most come with Yamaha 300's -- are they good motors?

Regal is right in the middle of QC. What you see in my videos is the same for all boats Regal makes. I have a few 33 and 38 SAV videos out there. They don't sell as well as the XO does. Tiara, Pursuit and Grady White are a level up on QC. They are also more money. Yamaha is the only outboard I would personally buy. They have 60 plus percent of the market for a reason. Hi Justin.. I’m amazed at your knowledge of boating/maintenance, from electrical, mechanical, plumbing & A/C. Is there anything you can’t do? Just wondering, Is there a particular trade covering this in the US, or is this just gained experience? Keep up the good work.

They do have a marine mechanics institute but I have been doing the same job for 20 plus years now. Most of what you see is experience. Thanks for watching.

It's right in the middle of quality. Not the best but far from the worst. 😁
