Clarifying this because some people are misunderstanding Marine's words: She said the fact Aqua is graduating (Aqua's situation) and the fact Shion is on indefinite hiatus (Shion's situation) reminded her of the difference between someone graduating and someone going on a break, and that someone just staying in hololive even if they're on a break makes her happy. Upon that reflection, she proceeds to state she'd like to stay here for as long as possible. If anything, you could say she meant the opposite of "Shion is going to graduate", she's talking about how Shion is NOT graduating but being on a break.

Well, for business side... everyone have a chance to graduate, Shion included if they have 'different' vision with the company. Shion is not going to graduate soon but she will in the future.

I always hoped it'd be at least a decade until I see my oshi graduate, I still can't believe it. But I'm proud of having introduced so many people to Aqua through my clips, and this was her decision, so I respect it and wish her the best for the future.

@@jean-pierrebenzenique I don't think this is common knowledge, but Shion takes these things especially hard compared to others. She's much more emotional than people realize. You could see this in how she handled Coco and Rushia leaving. I hope she does come back in time, but I also would understand if she couldn't get herself to.

Aqua graduating has been a real shock, even though I’m not able to keep up with all the talents, she seemed to be one of the happiest and most successful. I can’t imagine what issue would have come up during contract negotiations that would be such a deal breaker for her

@@Jonathanloh1992 It's more like Aqua never saw it as the serious thing people made it out to be. It basically started out as a joke and then Pekora made her own and suddenly it was more than intended. There's a reason that it was mainly Mio and Marine doing the organising.

While I dont care for apex, and I dont really watch aqua's streams, she's always felt like an imprtant part of hololive. Her skill as a gamer was always very impressive. Beyond that, while shes very much an introvert, you could clearly see that once she warmed up to someone they always had a great relationship. Just like with every graduation or termination, things will be different without her. Her presence within hololive will be missed, even if she returns under a different identity. And for the sake of her fans, I hope she does.

can't compare between her and marine i think, marine decide join hololive was because of aqua, and she said this again on this clip.. and that's also what she said when the first collab she did a years ago after she debut, "IF aqua was not in hololive? i'm sure i was already in different agency" she was a reason she join, aqua even always said "marine always tell how good i was in games, how great my voice when singing, and else.. she always said that when we talk" their relationship was born even before the first time marine debut, while pekora after a YEARS.. this was the only time she feel so close with her.

It's inevitable that eventually some of them will just want to move on. The fact Hololive has had so few major graduations is a testament to the company's resilience, but allowing a few birds to fly the nest grants space for new idols as well.

Yeah except that’s only happened once with Coco and even that was because she understood Hololive couldn’t agree to let her push the envelope the way she wanted. Even Sana was forced to choose between Hololive and her art career because of her physical health As far as Hololive talents go, they’re in it for the foreseeable future until something comes up that makes them decide to stop. In this case Aqua and Cover couldn’t agree on a new contract, which is surprising because I have no idea what Cover could have put in the new contract that would be such a deal breaker for a talent like her Also whenever someone genuinely wants to move on and do something else entirely there are always signs indicating that. Now I can’t keep up with every talent, but Aqua was from everything I’ve seen one of the happiest and most successful members. I haven’t seen or heard anything prior to this that would indicate a desire to leave Hololive and do something else entirely. There are also plenty of members that have separate accounts for streaming and creating non hololive content, so this one is a real head scratcher

@@TheJjcczzgiven the lack of “alternate life” accounts for Aqua it’s pretty obvious to me something else is going on, possibly something not so happy, either in Cover Corp internal culture or in Aquas personal life. A more generous interpretation is perhaps she plans on launching an indie streaming career and wants a few months of downtime first.

If it makes you feel better aqua situation seems like it was planned for 6-8months already. A-chan was a last minute emergency when a family member fell terminally ill. There is a good chance A-chan might return in the future once that member has passed away and she's dealt with that fallout.

So this is how I find out. Never really watched Aqua, but I occasionally enjoyed her clips. Graduations always make me worry that one of the girls I watch will be next, especially some of the ones who have been around for 5+ years. At least it’s one good terms I guess.

@@defra5840Those are literally the worst examples for the argument you’re trying to make. Rushia was terminated for NDA and Coco left because she knew Hololive couldn’t agree to let her push the envelope the way she wanted. So far no one has just up and retired. The Hololive talents are in it for the foreseeable future until something makes them stop, none of them have any plans to stop

Ooof... I only just started really watching and following Hololive a few months ago and I already feel the pain, can't even imagine what it must be like for those following from the beginning... Aqua feels to me likely the most relatable Holomem for some of us, and with all the amazing feats and this feel of being one of the frontgirl pillars of Hololive, it's gotta be harsh. It'll be an awkwardly shaped hole that no one can fill. Try to focus more on all the years you had... it's nothing short of amazing for a person to be this consistent in providing fun, friendship and comfort for this many people. And it's great that she's leaving in her own terms, so you gotta give her the best send off possible. Try not to be too sad or mad for what you won't have anymore, be thankful and glad for what you got so far. It's been great. We'll miss her.

That doesn’t make any sense, Aqua is leaving because she couldn’t come to an agreement with Cover on a new contract. Shion is part of the same Gen so her contract would have been up for renewal as well, if she had decided to leave with Aqua they would have announced them at the same time. The fact that they didn’t means Shion has already signed a new contract

I originally had a whole essay written but I think I'll condense it to this: I'm going to pull this from the memories of Coco and Sana's Graduations: A Proper Graduation is a Happy thing, if bittersweet. If only all of our Oshis can have a happy Graduation. We've seen all the not-so-great ways this can go down. A Proper Graduation is a Celebration. A final victory lap and a capstone of a good career. She is not leaving because of something bad happening. She is leaving because she decided it is time to move on. Hololive has given her so much and she doesn't need any more. It is time for her to tie a neat bow on that. Memories of her will not be sad. They will be happy memories. One of a wonderfully storied career. We'll all miss her but we can be happy that she appeared in our lives. If there is any silver lining, it's that Hololive Graduations hurt because it mattered to us. Memories of Aqua will not fade to nothing. --- And we can be on the lookout for if and when she appears in another form.

I just hope the rest of Gen 2 are doing alright. 2024, man. It was the Year of the Dragon. It supposed to be a fun time. Not taking away from the new holoStars nor holoJustice. They're a welcome addition to bring smiles to us in these troubling times. Still, I gotta stop saying "Next year will be better", because I think it's being taken as a challenge.

Aw man, I'm a big fan of that purple onion. I am someone who doesn't really have enough time to watch full streams and Aqua's clips were some of the first I saw in getting into HL (thanks OP, I am certain that you are one of the channels I used for it). I hope that it's not due to internal pressures on her (i have heard rumours about this) and that she's going to be happy and healthy in whatever she decides to do next.

I still remember the first collab they do, a maincraft collab.. when they want to build AquaMarine Go, Marine was saying "The reason i joining hololive was because of aqua.. IF Aqua not in hololive? i'm sure 100% i was in the different agency until now" from start she always said how good aqua at games is, how great aqua when singing is, and else, she always praise her like her own daughter, that's make aqua also feel the same, and saying what marine always said behind the stream.. they were respect each other, i can't have a word if marine lost her way because of this.. i hope she have her new reason joining and stay in hololive, but it's fact it's hurt a lot to see aqua grad :' (

Aqua was the first holo jp members i saw a clip, and it was from that channel (with the old intro ) I will always remember the time she was building that potion factory in minecraft or her stair to a lava pool I realised i had fallen in the rabbit hole for so long now Without her, i maybe wasn't staying Without holoyume, i probably wasn't discovered holo jp I'm really grateful for all of those kind moments Thank you for all Ateshi gamer onion

Damn... I haven't watched any live streams, and even the amount of clips I watched are prolly only 1% of what I used to watch during covid... but aqua is always that one vtuber I thought of as "How the hell is she going to survive outside streaming". And just came to a conclusion that she will never graduate from hololive. But here we are. I really hope she succeed outside hololive. But seriously tho, is she going to be able to survive interacting with people outside the safety of hololive ? I'm really frickin curious

oh man, it's seems like yesterday that Akutan joined Apex tournament with sui-chan and Towa sama. it seems like yesterday that Akutan got Master rank. it seems like yesterday that Akutan have fun with all holomem in several collab (Azki geoguesser, Ark, Minecraft,etc) i'll missed those 44.5 little onyan with gaming sense. i dunno if she would change to other agency, or going indie, or stop being streamer altogether. but i hope she could walk on with pride. so let's send her off with a blast. i hope when last onion peeled off, there will be no tears.

I think the biggest silver lining about graduation is that nothing happens to the channel, all her VODs will still be there. And in theory she could even come back if she wanted to, although I don't think she will.

Huh. So this is how I find out. Other holomem graduating was sad, but Aqua's been a bit of an inspirational figure to me in a way. Someone so shy and introverted who made some great friends in hololive, did so many idol things, and is great at games. I'll wish her the best, but it does feel like things will be different forever without her in holo 😢

What's even more tragic is that. She's a veteran yes but to me, the saddest part. She Just started to get along with pekora and these past 2 years she has been getting over her introverted shyness. People like Suisei and marine helped her so much in that aspect. She also had the funniest clips and gave birth to the legendary Sora moment.

I dont watch her stream but i know she is part of Hololive so its quite strange since she was actually one of the youngest member under 30 at least based on information circulating the internet that she decided to graduated very early and just a couple of days ago she was fine and happily had a lots of fun with ARK project and now this...regardless what was the reason it was her decision and hope for her new path to be successfull.

Aqu-tan graduating is like watching my daughter leave the house lol She has grown and done so much in Hololive that somehow it feels like she's beginning a new chapter in her life. I really wish she would stay, but I also wish her the best in whatever she's planning to do in the future.
