You mean the ancestors that were given the blankets with the small pox or the ancestors that walked the death trail or maybe the ancestors that were killed for nothing more than the land ….believe me I would gladly back you if you were right but you are not and the native soldiers were called dogs by the great ancestors,,,,the ancestors fought the American armies to the death SO HOW CAN YOU SAY SUCH A THING ,,,I WISH THINGS OF THE PAST WERE NOT TRUE BUT THEY ARE AND TO LIE ABOUT IT ADDS INSULTS TO INJURYS ,,,DO YOU NOT KNOW THE GENOCIDE OF OUR PEOPLE??? Please believe me I do not want to be the one that speaks the truth but I have no choice,,,, I WONT PRETEND THAT IT NEVER HAPPENED,,,, I WONT DISRESPECT MY ANCESTORS …. I DO NOT GET INTO THIS ARGUMENT OFTEN BUT I ,,BY LUCK CAME ACROSS THIS AND ALL THE LIES OF TODAY ….

Very true. They helped the colonists fight for freedom in the American Revolution, at least the tribes who didn’t side with the British, that is.

What freedom? How is this right? This is a slap in my face As a Indigenous woman this makes no sense at all. Mexico never had Jesus but yet native american do? And only have 1 God? Makes no sense to me. We had stories saying were and who we are and still the USA is killing us and Silencing our voices. The pope took a lot away from us. No money can ever fix this genocide. People need to educate themselves on where they came from and how they got here. It's not that hard .

Beautiful! Wish I was from the first nation and had such a rich culture. I'm just a white mutt with no culture or traditions. It makes me sad to yearn for such things and know that I will never have it. I love you all so very much. I have one beautiful gift, my grandson is Ojibwe. Unfortunately his father won't allow him to learn about his culture because his son looks white and he doesn't want him to be mercilessly picked on at school. So public school it is. Sigh. Ya'll are so beautiful. Native Pride. Love you ❤❤❤❤
@mikek01354 ай бұрын
It is a sad feeling to be separated from your culture and traditions. You say you're a mutt, so I assume you have many peoples' blood in you, which means you have alot of choices of cultures and traditions to choose from. I hope you find yours, and let it in. Perhaps your grandson can learn his traditions when he gets older: he'll need someone to show him - like you. You can show him what you know when it's time.

This is the epitome of a true American! I have lived in NW NM for 53 years. All Natives live to join. They understand the meaning of free better than anyone. There is a place the on the rez in Upper Fruitland when you go under a tiny bridge that a Native artist painted all the Armed Services. Beautiful. I wish I could show you. Right after it is a picture of the Hogan. On the rez with the sheep and smoke coming out...perfect. I am a Billigana but they are still my people. None are prouder to serve their country. They have a 75% enlistment rate. That's American.
