Man, what a blast from the past!! So glad they have E-muster now!! I remember being all crowded together at our muster stations and invariably waiting on people to show up so we can FINALLY be released 30-45 minutes later to 'enjoy' the sail away party! Glad we don't have to do THAT anymore! Saw this series(that I hadn't watched before!) and hey, we go on the Mariner in December, lets get familiar with this ship! Let the shenanigans commence!!

Jay, the outside deck you were "wandering" on at embarkation is called the Promenade Deck where the lifeboats are accessed. That inside deck that Dee calls a Promenade Deck is called Royal Promenade which I call a shopping mall. I prefer to spend my holiday on a cruise ship and connect with the sea. Who wants to holiday at a mall LOL!

This is the ship I have had my eye on since my Independence of the Seas trip last April! I wasn't planning a long trip til Oct 2021 - but Mariner I figured I could edge in a long weekend... :( I guess that isn't happening now! LOL I really want to go asap after reopening, my hubby wants to wait. Time will tell... but so excited to be catching up on this series!

We had the same issue with the in-cabin music on that day. We don’t believe the control knobs did anything before or after they silenced the music. Perhaps they were pranking all of us. Thanks for the fun embarkation video!

We were on royal several years ago. Izumi was disappointing maybe it’s better now. The sports bar wasn’t there tho. Heard it was good. Also we just got off the legend on the 15th. Last cruise that ran prior the covid fall apart. Carnival did wonderful job. In the buffet and anywhere that used to be self serve they served u. Which we really appreciated. We heard that may be the new norm because the guy smoking and then eating buffet always grossed me out lol. Stay safe guys. Washy washy

Thank you for the video, it was great to see what this ship has to offer. We are going to take our first cruise "hopefully" in August and I wanted to ask about motion sickness. Do you experience that, or are these ships so large that it's not very noticeable? I remember years ago, some co-workers wore a patch behind their ear to not get sick. I was just wondering what your thoughts are on it. Thanks again for sharing.

I don't personally get motion sickness, but Dee does from time to time. She has tried over-the-counter Dramamine in the past but it made her too sleepy, so she switched to Bonine and does just fine!! :D ~Jay

I scheduled the Canada/, New England cruise for May on RC. I was there several years on CCL. Looks as though it is cancelled but plan to reschedule when things settle down. My question; was the Key worth the cost? I would only be taking advantage of about half of what is offered. Thanks for any info.

We did a separate video with our thoughts on The Key and its value shortly before starting our Disney series. For us, it would only be worth it on short cruises, and only if we were interested in doing the sports activities. Otherwise, probably not.

Eh, we like them both for different reasons... Carnival seems more lively and fun overall, and Royal seems to offer a lot more activities, especially of the outdoor variety. I guess we'll just say "cruising" is our favorite, ha ha... :P

Shoot, we never did remember to talk about it. Dee ordered asparagus as a side, and it never came. Then I had ordered mashed potatoes which I was sharing with Dee, and they swooped in and took them away before we had finished them. They were delicious and Dee was sad, ha ha... but it was okay. Nothing major... :P
