Smart animals have been observed to hold grudges, I remember an Indian Elephant that was forced to work during a heatwave, which is ilegal in India, that gored the guy forcing the Elephant to work, then the elephant stayed vigilant over the man preventing people from rescuing him or taking him to a hospital until the man died.

The description was not of venomous creatures, but poisonous creatures. If the toxin is intrinsic ie all through the animal, it is poisonous. If the toxin is delivered via fangs, claws, stings or spurs, but the rest of the animal is nontoxic, they’re venomous.

Well, they DID have special protective gear available at a moment's notice... Also, you vastly overestimate the survival instincts of a wildlife biologist. These are the kind of people who happily risk death and dismemberment in order to spend five minutes counting eggs.

@@margotrosendorn6371 You know, I, for one, would like an episode, or atleast part of one, on why Outpost Scientist in this franchise get no respect and are seen as dumb. They seem like they should get more, seeing as the only difference between them and Star Fleet is that Outpost Scientist are stationary a opposed to mobile.But from what we've seen, they simply aren't trained, staffed, or equip to either maintain their base of operations (something our Leiutenant JG are helping them with), or handle whatever unexpected threats the Final Fronteir may send their way. They seem to be set up soley for lab work.

To my knowledge it isn't possible. Human eyeballs are directly linked to the brain via a tether called the optic nerve, which the links to the (big word coming up) Lateral Geniculate Nucleus. To cause the eyes to shoot out of the head would require the optic nerve to violently burst in some fashion.
