Completely fair. I get kind of choked up now at 29 remembering how getting an N64 in 2000 was; being raised on NES/SNES and booting up Mario Kart 64 to this main theme was absolutely the most definitive "next-generation" sensation I'd ever felt in video gaming. Nothing has ever come close since. And the funniest thing is that, in retrospect, Mario Kart 64 was actually one of the more graphically reserved N64 games. It's just that MK64's musical signature was at a level of grandiosity that absolutely took me by complete surprise when I was new to it all. It wasn't until the fully-orchestral soundtrack of Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii that I felt that same "next-gen" spark.
