Mario Kart 64 Tournament - VA 2019 Semi-Finals

These were the semi-final rounds at the Virginia 2019 MK64 4P VS tournament. All matchups with video times are listed below.
Rules/Info:
24 people were entered in this tournament with the top 4 returning players from last year's tournament getting a bye into the top 16. The remaining 20 players each played 2 rounds of all 16 tracks to try to earn one of the remaining 12 spots.
In the play-ins, each player plays 2 rounds of 16 races each with their opponents based on predetermined seeding. For each race, 3 points are awarded for 1st, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd. The players with the most overall points in their rounds compared to all others in the play-ins moved on to the top 16.
In the top 16, each player played in 2 full rounds that were determined by seeding for a total of 32 races. The top 8 players in total points after all rounds moved on to the top 8.
In the semi-finals/top 8, there were 2 groups of 4 players. The top 2 from each group moved on to the finals.
Cups were played in Mushroom, Special, Star, Flower order. Tracks were played with standard non-shortcut rules.

1:15:34 Kyle shot the red and it went backwards, getting lost in the matrix, finally deciding to go after Dan (or did Dan just happen to drive into it after it jumped the wall in search for Jones?) at 1:15:49 Kyle had shot the shell the same exact time Jones selected his green from the roulette, triggering the possible glitch effect. I have seen red shells get "stuck" in a corner somewhere, but this would be the first time I've seen one meander around as this one did. Dan found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I think that red shell actually came from Trent. At 1:15:40 he fires his shells, and they head for the wall... You can shoot red shells over the wall in some spots on Wario Stadium, I think one of them was the red shell who hit Dan, being that it came from in front of him and you could hear mario's laugh play when Trent was playing mario.

It's the shell limit thing, there were at least 20 shells that already got shot, after Kyle shot his red Jones pulled one to make it disappear

The stream was already 18+ when Dennison had a really bad DKJP during the Play-Ins. And now (Andy Hine and whoever else was curious) the reason why I never made a finals pick video, either planning on wearing a suit and doing the awards segment and/or wanted to interview the final 4 during the hour break in between the Semis and the Auto Bid Seeding (Finals) other than the fact that it was too late at night to really do anything in my defense.

Man I gotta disagree. I wouldn’t say any of these guys are “not good”!!! I’d agree Stinson didn’t look at good here... but if you watch the top 16, he was a beast in that. Beat Jones in one of the play in rounds even. And hung with Burbank in sweet 16 if I recall correctly.
