I think they should remove the Blooper item and make the Blooper a playable character maybe but that's unlikely because Nintendo been using it since DS.

Maybe the blooper boss from Sunshine could be playable instead, that way the item can stay without it being weird. Kinda like Petey Piranha being playable, and having piranha plant items.

My ideas for items would be: 10 Coin: You get 10 coins automatically Bomb Shell: A shell that explodes after hitting someone, or after hitting a wall more than 3 times Poison Mushroom: A mushroom that can be thrown onto the track. It moves around, leaving a trail of poison that can make other racers spin out. If the mushroom is touched by another racer, they shrink P Switch: When used, everyone's items instantly turn into a Coin. It's similar to the Boo item, but it effects everyone. It can be used to get rid of potential Red Shells or Blue Shells. It would be the rarest item in the game

For the Mega mushroom, i hope when you're big you will be able to drop / throw bigger items like have a giant banana or a giant greenshell until you shrink down

I think there needs to be an item from Odyssey. My go to picks are Cappy to hit a car and take over the controls for like 5 or seconds or inverts them and the T Rex being a more controller able version of the Bullet Bill

I'd really like to see the rock mushroom from Galaxy 2 to become an item. I think it'd be super fun, especially in 24 player, to be in the middle of the pack and squish a bunch of people in front of you as a giant boulder. It'd also be a good tool for taking off road shortcuts as well with a speed boost the length of several mushrooms if you don't crash into a wall but without the ability to make anything greater than a very slight turn while using it

“Giant Variations of Items.” They need to buff the Mega Mushroom to affect the size of the items you use. Giant Bombs, Giant Shells etc.

Nintendo removing the blooper and piranha plant from the next Mario kart because they’re not that good are less likely than Mario RPG characters being playable. I don’t see Nintendo getting rid of them. Especially bringing back the fake item box and chain chomp at the same time which I don’t think are ever returning

I think that item in the Mario Kart 9 gameplay that we see is a fast food bag and every single track has a unique item to it so for that track it's the fast food bag especially since it's next to a Yoshi Diner.

The banana, green shell, red shell, blue shell, bob-omb, mushroom, golden mushroom, bullet bill, blooper, lightning, star, fire flower, boomerang flower, super horn, boo and the triple variants of the banana, green shell, red shell and mushroom are 99% likely to return. The feather and piranha plant really depend on whether or not they'd like to bring those back plus the renegade roundup battle mode. The fake item box, chain chomp, mega mushroom and bubble probably won't be coming back purely because there's already other equivalent items that fill the same niches. The ice flower, super bell, hammer and thunder cloud would be neat to see return, but I wouldn't count on the heart, yoshi egg, giant banana, bowser shell, POW block, super leaf or any other item from Tour or even the arcade games making the cut. As for new items, they could do just about anything and I'd be happy, as long as they don't make anything akin to the most useless item in series history, the coin.

Item ideas: bubble flower this can chase any player and steal their items but it doesn’t go to your inventory it stay there and you can get it and others can to. A goomba so this can chase a player a be in your inventory and if their full then the goomba replace the first item, to get rid of it you use it and slows you down a bit. Red star you fly and get a boost it’s like the bubble but your not invincible but you pull dropped items with you and once the flying stops the items a placed there so yea. Poison mushroomit chase a near by player and boost them backwards so yea you can use it to push players to off roads. Warp box you can use it to teleport 3 places in front of you and you can throw it back to telport a player 3 places back. And those are my ideas for new items so yea. A

Something I'd like would be more verticality in tracks. Bring back the Feather to jump to other routes. Add the Goomba Shoe which also jumps and flattens other drivers when landing on them.

Loosely going off your idea with the frenzy. I think it would be very cool if for getting three stars on a cup was based on a score very similar to the score system in mario kart tour. I think needing to win every race in 8 Deluxe to get 3 stars is yeah, a little simple and boring. But also in the older games, it could be really frustrating because you were working with an invisible score. So I think that having the score system from tour come back to base your grading. Would be a good balance between those two

How about the Cloud Flower from Galxay 2 this could allow you to point the flower at the person infront of you basically putting them up 3 clouds for 2 seconds before they can continue and to take their place mam that would be cool

I'd really like to see the return of character specific items from double dash. I know there's going to be a lot of characters in the game, but I really don't have a problem with a group of characters sharing a special item, so I think it can work.

Honestly would also scrap either the boomerang or the fireflower bc they both do around the same thing, either is fine but it's a slot less and more room for a new item. Would trade the boo item with the megamushroom from Wii bc it's a way more fun dodge item and fits the hecticness of 24 players mario kart. Obviously no Coins or Blooper bc it isn't fun pulling either of them, the blooper bc of the placement you get it at and not doing much and the coin bc you get no red shell protection. with the piranhaplant your also deceptable to redshells and all it does is attacking in front of you and a slight speedboost what most of the time doesn't make you win a race or chance the outcome. Those are 5 places for new or old items, for 1 I want the Megamushroom.

There’s no reason not to bring back the piranha plant it’s such a cool and unique item and if it’s not powerful enough they can just increase the speed boost it provides every time the plant chomps forward. Also don’t think we need to see the thundercloud back but with 24 racers it could be interesting but it can’t be so punishing if you’re the one caught with it. For the mega mushroom I see no reason to not have it item immune since it’s functionally worse than a star or bullet bill which are both transforming items so unless it’s an item for high places like 3-5 it should act basically the same. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the heart item since it came back in tour and it’s such a cool concept for an item I’d love to see it come back

Blooper is easily fixable though. Just have the ink cover entire screen. It's not that hard

Remove blooper and replace with a "placeable oil slick" that ties to Splatoon. Somebody runs over it and they are slowed or vison blocked.

Also do we still think we are getting two item slots? Even if I don’t like blooper, I think it should stay. And I think they should make it more annoying and cover the screen completely I think the coin does balance first place but maybe if they bring back the fake item box, could see them mainly getting that item. Or if fuel is the big gimmick for this game then maybe just a fuel weapon. I wouldn’t mind returning items but maybe use some modern references for already preexisting items. But i would like to see a - wonder seed (unless that’s the gimmick) - the drill ability (go underground to avoid track. Potential faster way or way to get fuel/items?) - cappy (maybe can be similar to boomerang or even grapples and slows down racers)
