Technically ramen, udon, curry and chili are soups. Cereal and salsa are also probably soups on account of being in a savory, sour or spicy broth and being eaten out of a bowl.

chili is technically a stew (which, tbh, is like a cousin to soup).

Though our recipes differ, both my mom and I make it as a soup by bringing it to a short boil with a 60/40 liquid/solid ratio, and every restaurant chili I've had is definitely a soup with how watered down it is, like 85/15 ratio.
