It's funny you point that out. I like Oboe and my wife likes Jerma but we each can't stand the other. She thinks Oboe is boring, I find Jerma obnoxious. But both of them absolutely suffer from terminal streamer brain, that hadn't occurred to me before.

I remember they made a swedish version, using the same location and seemingly the same staff (including the dwarf guy and the old man who narrates). Could be they dubbed a lot of that. Or all of it. I _thought_ they brought in some swedish contestants, but that might have just been sneaky dubbing that my young, innocent self didn't catch. Crazy that this show is still around in some form!

There was also a British version hosted by Melinda Messenger. Contestants went through very mild trials, well I thought they were mild anyway, such as having bugs and spiders crawl on them as they tried to complete some sort of puzzle, so as to win money.

From what I read online, the show was exported to many country in the 90's and early 2000's. They would have their own teams and hosts, the fort characters stayed the same. Where I live the contestant would give the money they got to a charity of there choice.

It screams "IP owner cash grab" like basically every other game show made into a video game. You know, the kind of minimum viable product with all the budget in art and sound so that it looks reasonable when presented at a board meeting, but no money or care spent on making an enjoyabpe game. Though how they're profitable enough, apparently, to get multiple consistent releases, who knows?
