Gotta say this dude is pretty good at making videos, and I especially dig the Mario videos. Only made it to Ricco Harbor in SMS bc of the old school movement and controls being too difficult for me to handle, and I most likely won't ever try playing it again 😭

When you started talking about how you're playing this game, I was like that WWE guy getting more excited meme: You're playing on an emulator... in widescreen HD... with HD textures... by Henriko Magnifico..!?! (it was at this point that my head exploded). Definitely do more divisive games videos.

Gee, it's almost like 100%-ing a game is like, optional content, or something.

@@aPonderousChain Okay but the problem is, how absurdly difficult it is to find every single bluecoin. Some of the bluecoins are disgustingly cryptic. The reward for 100% should scale with how difficult is to 100%. With sm64, you got near bottomless supply of one ups, and a unique jump. For galaxy, you get one final level as a send off. For odyssey, you get one brutal gauntlet to challenge your skills. in sunshine, you get a post card... And in my opinion, sunshine is harder to complete than odyssey or sm64, or even galaxy, included the janky ass green stars in the squeal. As it it requires brute memorization and praying that you just, *know* what bluecoins you missed, in a specific mission for a specific level.

I mean, collecting all stars in Mario 64 gives you access to Yoshi that hands you 100 extra lives after you already did everything in the game yet people don't complain. I think 100% completion rewards are neat and could totally be great additions that make everything worth it, but what matters most is whether game completion is fun, and it also gives the player a goal beyond doing the bare minimum.

I stand my ground. The inarguable best mario game is mario paint. Sure you could paint, but that music maker was the shit. Mario world for the snes comes at a close second.

Well i actually 100% SUper Mario Sunshine back in the day. I do enjoyed it and even realized some of the secrets lvl was used for some of the super Mario galaxy lvls so that was cool. As for a decisive game tend to see a lot of people ether really like or dislike Disgaea series, i personaly enjoyed them.

I think the mixed reception has a lot to do with expectations for the series, like we're not talking about some mediocre yearly franchise like COD or whatever, proper 3d Mario games are made at really high standards so any miniscule dip into mediocrity is inevitable gonna perceived worse compared to any other platformer game. This game has great highs but also quite a few bad lows and mediocre stuff so by 3d Super Mario platformer standards it's a weak entry but a weak Mario entry is still a 7/8 out of 10 when comparing it to other games outside the series. So in the end people who expect the admittedly pretty consistent level of excellency out of each 3d Mario game will judge Sunshine harshly, while people with lower expectations will praise it.

There’s nothing to disagree on I’m 32 all of Mario greatest games were released during my childhood. Mario sunshine is a fantastic game.

I really hated that the horizontal camera controls were inverted and you can't change it....likewise the vertical camera control isn't inverted and you can't change it.....

Final Fantasy II, XIII and especially VIII are all pretty controversial (XIII is probably just straight up bad though). Modern Paper Mario, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, even some of the 3D Zelda games get some heated debates going, usually Skyward Sword.
