The majority of Mario's games have always been the exact same 2D side scrolling experience with your exception of 3D titles. Sonic started doing 3D games and have been doing it consistently with lots of changes here and there, trying new things. This hasn't always been a good thing for Sonic but it's the fact that Sonic Team risked trying something new that counts. Mario hasn't changed too much. And all though that's safe I just dislike it for being the same experience. It's gotten boring for me. Sorry for this long life story lol
