I'd never argue with new content entirely, so I'm grateful and happy they've added what they added here. I think if the game wants to see a potential sector for longevity, it would need to have a Spectator Mode and possibly proper 4v4 Online (where all players can be remote) so that there could be a tourney scene. I myself would be hosting them regularly with a Spectator Mode client, but it could go eSports if they had a tournament scene like that. But like I say, I'm happy for any additional content being added to the game and I hope they'll consider modes/features for the updates to come!

Right on the money! Spectator mode and 4v4 online, will make this game a lot better. I love that they release the update quick but if they don’t improve gameplay, it honestly don’t matter how many characters they release.

@@oscartosado6874 Its 12 people and the matches can get crazy alot of pro players are at the top they have a ranking system to keep things fair. They even do a roulet to see what course will be selected by your choices between a few or just random it's super exiting! So to see Mario strikers not have that option is crazy just think of how fun it would be a 8 player online match like someone wants to keep the ball then the entier team just goes after them or ya can play defence and help the bad goalie ai stop some shots before they can shoot.

I've been scrolling through comments on this video and I'm surprised there aren't more hate comments like this... but I 100% agree that Nintendo needs to stop being so lazy with these games, but the problem is no matter how much content they lack there will always be people buying it anyway whether they're completely happy with it or not... I disagree, this game still needs so much more, it's dire. The single player content is practically non-existant. I want to be able to enjoy the game on my own and with friends and the little actual progression content they have, customizing your battle stadium, is witheld in online multiplayer. It's poor. I assume you're happy for the multiplayer so I'm glad this game at least partially appeals to someone.

Daisy is a mainstay, it's a little hard to get excited when she was blatantly cut just so she could be added in later. The things you want are already developed and you should know it this stuff was in older Mario strikers games on day 1 yet with the brand new one there’s less on day 1 and Nintendo simply adds already developed content as “free content” so people don’t stop playing instead of actually making dlc. The few times dlc has been good are with Zelda, smash bros, splatoon, and Mario kart. One ting about those though is that they are all paid dlc animal crossing dlc should have been prea included too except happy home paradise which is also good paid dlc as for the free updates they were all in the older animal crossing games already on day 1

It's become a pattern at this point where the gane will come out with a huge lack of content (Battle league and Switch Sports especially) and then the game is actually completed 2 years afterwards with "Free dlc" which is actually them adding content that could've been in day 1 if they hadn't rushed the game out the door. That's what people mostly mean when they call a game "Unfinished" these days. And so do I in most cases.

The actual game only has 1 glitch I experience which was a way to speedrun one of the gyms. Not a bad glitch. The game's music is also really good! The battles are enjoyable. The art style is what Pokemon should always be!

@@kevinkong64 Smash Ultimate that launched with 74 characters, several side modes and that even received free content updates on top of that? A game where every single fighter is distinct and feels unique, with like a hundred stages, a ton of items and a plethora of options to customize your experience? That game was substantial and huge at launch. Considering how carefully each and every characters and stage is crafted and how difficult it was to get some of the DLC characters for Smash, I think selling them as DLC is entirely justified (even if there should maybe be a slightly better price). Strikers Battle league had ten characters of launch (two captains and 10 characters in total less than in Strikers Charged), that all basically play the same (except for the really unimportant side effects of the Hyper Strikes). Also, five stages (less than a third of Charged's amount) that all play the EXACT same and don't even look that distinct while playing. Furthermore, a handful of items (even less than in the previous games) and basically the exact same game mode as single and multi player with almost zero options. And a pretty lackluster online mode that doesn't even have scoreboards or proper 8-player multiplayer.

Like, meticulously designed to be faithful to the series they originated from, with intricate and complex features and gimmicks, and all of that in a game that is balanced enough to be played competitively. Yes, more does not always mean better. But more is exactly what Strikers Battle League needs. The core gameplay is good, the graphics are good, but it lacks the meat. There is literally nothing to do or unlock after you have completed the tournaments. Again, even comparing it to the predecessor makes it look pitiful. The characters feel too similar because they only differ in stats (and even that is often negated by gear) and also don't have AS much distinct personalities in their animations as in the previous game (also, they have less animations per character even though we only have so few). Even with two more updates like this one, we will still be FAR behind Charged in terms of variety.

Post-launch content worked for Splatoon because those games got updates on a near-weekly basis, so there was always an incentive to keep coming back and try out new weapons, modes, outfits, etc. These Mario Sports games can go MONTHS without anything new being announced, by the time they finally announce a brand new character most people have moved on.
