A couple of things that really bothers me with this awesome game: -No individual stats after the match. (preety basic thing nowadays) -Can't select the roster i want in strickers club. -AI difficulty jump is way high and not gradual at all, the first batch of cups is way to easy and then you unlock the higher difficulty cups and I feel like I didn't get a chance to improve. -Roster is way to little, and the stadiums as well.

I have a great memory about my hundreds of hours of playtime with me and my friends, playing mostly in my living room together or against each other. Team customization was great, the aggressive and evil theme was amazing and the visuals were so spot on. It felt more like a death match than a football game. Battle League doesn't come even close to that, which is the reason why it deeply saddens me to say: Neither me nor my friends are willing to pay full price for half a game.

In previous games, you used to pay attention where the enemy main char is to make sure no supercharged shots were made. Now everyone has one and every match doesn't feel that much distinct from each other. Also.. imo one the weakest features about Battle League is the new changeable equipment. And apparently that's one of their big selling points.

Idc how awful a game is, people are allowed to like it. Similarly, people are allowed to hate "fantastic" games like god of war or botw. I'd like to know their reasons of course to see if they're more objective or more opinionated, but they're still allowed to feel whatever way about a product. That being said though, the criticisms people make about this game itself are entirely validated. Lack of content, archaic online play, drip fed content into the game which they can stop at any point they see fit (lookin at Mario golf👀), and all of this for a $60 price tag is just absurd. The gameplay itself is fun and to those who enjoy it more power to em, but the issues are just way too numerous. Still though, theres a difference between criticizing a product, and just being an entitled dick.

I hate how Nintendo places a greater emphasis with online in their games nowadays! They did this with Splatoon 2 and Mario Maker 2, which weren’t too bad because they had decent single player content. However, Switch Sports and now this game have such a minimal amount of content outside of online, to the point where it alienates people who don’t already own a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online! Basically, along with the purchase of the game, their is an additional annual $20 paywall that prevents you from playing the whole game and getting a full experience! It also makes me worried about future games such as Splatoon 3!

I think Nintendo is in a precarious situation, if they release a new character or stadium within this first season/month, they are proving the critics right that there was content ready to go that was purposefully held back which may hurt the game in the long run, but if they take 2 months+ of seasons before dropping anything meaningful like they did with Golf, it may just be too little too late to bring people back in the long run. The gameplay is fun, but for many, there isn't enough to stick around for. I hope that this game isn't abandoned and that in a year or 2 it will surpass even Charged.

Tbh I think it'll take a bit more than what Nintendo has been offering lately for this to surpass charged in an enjoyable aspect but with sales, maybe. Charged is the superior game here I'd say. This is a step down both in style/tone and in content/presentation, which is a shame, not forgetting to mention it follows gaming's trend of releasing very barebones. Charged: it had far more character personalityoverall (but battle league does have some good character moments), strategy (I'd argue with only one non repeatable character) and more creativity with its stadiums or at least in how they were presented. It's gameplay was easy to learn, hard to master for most I'd say and had unique stadiums that you had to adapt on the fly with. But also offered classic stadiums for past fans and for just straight striker gameplay with no hazards. Battle league: Adds gear for customization.... rpg elements in a sports game is incredibly dumb if you ask me. Having your entire team be what used to be captains or would be captains (save for toad) could be a pro or con depending on who you are, but I do think it took a bit of the strategically aspect and personality away from team building. All the stadiums feel and look incredibly generic. Customization is a plus, but I think having hazardous stadiums return with an option to turn off the hazards would of been superior to customizable stadiums. TLDR: Battle league feels more like Mario football/soccer (akin to the baseball titles which im now scared to see return) and less like a mario strikers game. On a final note, Boom Boom is ultra stupid. Bring back Kritter goalie :)... and daisy.

Okay, so two things: 1. why do we have to have rpg mechanics in every genre of gaming nowadays, especially in a sports game of all things where people play those games to improve their skills and team coordination and not to artificially boost their performance with gear, especially when those mechanics can be a defining factor of whether a team wins or loses an online match? 2. I know I'm beating a dead horse by saying this, but Nintendo needs to step up their game when developing for their sports spinoff titles because at this point, it's not worth blowing 60$ just for what feels like an unfinished build of a game with little to no content at launch.

i hate the controls of the game especially all those timed actions. a slide tackle should be a different button just like the first game. Now you need to wait before you can tackle to get the right one. Also you cant time a slide to intercept a ball because the pass is faster then the charge of the slide tackle. Lack of content and modes it also really bad. in the first game you could start a knockout and normal tourement upto 8 players. Now you can only start 1 duel if you play local multiplayer. The controls are really diffecult for new players so you cant just play with new players if they are with you. They first have to learn this game so it is not a party game which it should be ( like the first). They need to release different control modes (to remove motion and timed controls) and local play options.

exactly the same here. i'm also not sure if new characters over time will make me play the game again. there are no good unlockables in the game plus all arenas play exactly the same

@@nuclearbeeberman let me tell you, nothing will change if they add 10 more characters. You'll be excited for a couple of days, but you will get the same sensation of boredom eventually. You know why??? Because the game has no content!! no modes, poor replayability value, little and non customization options, LIKE we have the veeery basic stuff. Online is laggy, slow to get in. Only 1vs1 and 2vs2.... WHERES THE 4VS4???

I enjoy the game, I do wish there was a bit more content though. My biggest gripe is in the league however, you’ve put ones who only have themselves in a team at such a disadvantage. The fact we only have 1 player geared to our liking and cannot even choose the remainder of our team. Many of the combinations I have been given are terrible. It would be nice if we could at least choose from the entire pool of players for the rest of our team even if they don’t get gear to our choosing.

Gear is a bit of a struggle for me because I’m not sure what I want to increase for each character. I mess with gear for two characters (Luigi and Rosalina), but I think I may wait till I get a bit more coins.

@@SaltyToad00 i didn’t see anyone mention that they can’t afford it. we are weighing the value of the product with its price. Nintendo wants us to pay a premium price for their game, so their game should offer a premium experience. wanting the value out of your investments isn’t being broke, it’s being smart. wanting to feel good about your purchases is a pretty normal thing. (i make $100k+ a year by the way.) and i agree with the guy above me, even $25 would have been a better price for what you’re getting.

Mario Strikers will be on a $40 sale 2 or 3 times throughout the year, along with the other Nintendo sports games. but that's not really a good excuse to release a game at a premium price without enough content to justify the price. of course, I saw you all over the comments of this video trying to defend this game, so no point in discussing this with you because you are pretty bias instead of thinking logically.

The developer plays huh? Then you oughta know that reversing the shoot and pass buttons was a crazy decision and at least adding an option to change controls would've been nice, sheesh.

you can change the controls in the switch menu and even use GameCube controllers for this game if you want the classic experience.
