They replaced the kremlings with softer rounder boom booms and none of the previous characterization seems to be here. @@crashban4t.f.s.b783 The only real thing to change we see is that there are no Kritters as goalies, but that's just Nintendo letting go of using Donkey Kong characters. The gameplay looks very much like the other Strikers games and by the animation alone, I'm pretty sure it's Next Level Games developing it. The animation looks about the same as Luigi's Mansion 3 which NLG also developed. Though Nintendo did buy them to keep them at hand for their games.

All they needed was one extra year of development. This game should have came out june 2023 not june 2022. That extra year would allow for a lot more content and polish. + the fact that the game would release shortly after mario movie hype would help its sells and longevity even more. Literally everyone would benefit from it. Both nintendo and consumers. I dont know why they had to rush it like that for no reason.

It actually feels like it pays more homage to the GC game than Charged to me. It probably should've gone closer to Charged, but given the decade gap, maybe they wanted to play it a little safer for their first time back.

I love that they're making a new Mario Strikers! I always wanted to play it, and I can't wait to play as Daisy since she's the best player. Daisy is literally the princess of soccer, it's her best sport and it's gonna be fun playing as her in the new Mario Strikers. ^^

Man this brings huge nostalgia vibes. THIS IS AMAZING!! The previous game was simply fantastic and seeing a new entry in development was such a shocker to me. I'm worried about the character personalities. One of the aspects of Strikers Charged that made it stick out from other Mario sports games was the anger, confidence, and overall personality displayed from each character. I doubt that Nintendo will continue this trope, however I hope that even a little bit of emotion is put into the Team leaders and sidekicks's animations, voices and logos, etc.

0:50 Looks like the ball lost its charge after it was passed. Maybe because toad didnt catch it perfectly. Either way the charging mechanic is probably different from previous game. Also 1:42 DK smashes his own teammate Waluigi which gives him speed bost. He would probably also tackle opponents on the way as we can see same thing happening in the cutscene at 0:25 where Bowser tackles his teammate Donkey Kong where he rushes forward and smacks opponents on the way. So it looks like there is new feature and its pretty cool. Also there is probably sprint ability (not mushroom). You can see rosalina sprinting at 1:03 when shes actually running on her feet reather than floating. You can also see peach sprinting at 2:04 and 2:31. There is colored trail behind them when theyre sprinting.

The electric slide tackles probably have something to do with the arrows that appear before a character tackles. Maybe you can charge a tackle like how you charge a shot.

I was beyond stoked to hear this announcement; the Strikers series is one of my all-time favorites! The game looks amazing so far, but I have some hopes/requests: - Choose the gameplay style (Charged or GC or new; the ball behaves differently) - Cheats (cool unlockable options for matches from previous games; like choosing classic super strikes instead of the new orb) - Legacy characters to unlock (sidekicks and captains from the previous games: Daisy, Diddy Kong, Bowser Jr., and Petey for Captains; Dry Bones, Hammer Bro, Boo, Birdo, Koopa Troopa, etc. for sidekicks) - Legacy stadiums (from GC and Charged) - Swappable goalies (like swapping Boom-Boom for Kritter - the OG Strikers’ goalie) - A Strikers’ play and feel (controls the same and has the same soul as previous games; doesn’t feel so far removed that it alienates series veterans) - More cutscenes (including multiple goal cutscenes like Charged) - Themed character music and styles (like Charged) - More Strikers’ style art - Retro Nintendo Callbacks (Charged used a DS for The Striker Times, each Luigi’s Mansion uses a retro Nintendo device for all E-Gadd transmissions) - Classic control schemes - Togglable reticle for the ball (it’s nice but can kind of ruin the visuals) - Classic CPU Cups and Unlockables - Option to have one captain (if everybody can do the hyper strike, it could get chaotic enough to be unfair and undodgeable, like playing against the Super Team in the GC Strikers) - Gimmicky stadiums (I know some people don’t like gimmicks, but there are stadiums without them, and gimmicks are fun) - Classic character-specific powerups (from Charged) - A trophy/unlockables room like Charged had - Different-size and type stadiums (for different strategies) - More characters in the stadium - saw only Toads, Shy-guys, Koopas, and Yoshis; Piantas, Nokis, Ukikis, Goombas, Penguins, Boos and Birdo are missing - Ability to choose more than one of the same characters for a team (more of a classic feel) - The Freeze Shells and the Brutal shells (only items missing other than Captain-Specific ones) Again, this looks AMAZING so far! I hope that the extra effort is put in to make this the BEST Strikers yet!

Honestly, it sounds almost too much like you want the new game to just be a remake. The reason why classic super strikes were replaced with the new orb is that like you said they also changed the captain idea so it would be unbalanced for everyone to have a super strike. I think Charged is an amazing game, but for this franchise to move forward it can't spend so much time doing call backs and classic options, it's just going to get stale if that happens. The swappable goalie one is one of the least likely, because it's obvious Kritter was removed specifically due to character licensing rights. I agree with and I think it's important that this game has some campaign, some more roster characters, character theme music, and some unique stage gimmicks. Other than that I don't really agree with your ideas. I'd much rather the game be an innovation over a homage.

@@iminumst7827 I agree that the game should be new and innovative, but some games try to innovate too much and lose/leave out some of what made the previous games good (Mario Golf Superrush added new game modes, but the game was rushed/incomplete and many of the little details that gave the game flavor were absent- funny character animations, cpu difficulty levels, etc.) My main fear is that this game is rushed out without a full character roster and striker cup mode (like the previous entries), or there are so many little changes or features absent that the game doesn’t feel like Strikers anymore. I love Charged but want more than a remake, I want the definitive Mario Strikers. Charged was fun but was “too gimicky” for some players. I have avidly played both the GC and Charged and like them both equally, but Charged added many features that are considered staples in the series. This new game needs the staples of both games to be a true successor.
