Ok so I have to assume this will be like Mario golf and they’ll randomly just start adding characters after launch, but I really wouldn’t have expected a lack of Daisy. It’s not just that she was the most popular character of the old games, but the fact that she has been included in every sports game since the first Mario tennis by default. She’s not a throw away character, the sport games are kind of her games, they’re what made her character grow. Having her not there feels just wrong.

I never played strikers but everything I saw from it tended to always show off how they scripted Daisy, even if it was wasn’t the main focus, so I don’t think it was a loud minority really. Also, even if she is just spin off filler, this is a spin off, so it only proves my point. Almost like Waluigi, if you look at her history, she really only really got involved when Mario tennis was released, acting as a partner to Peach. She’s been in every single one since so regardless of what anyone says, this is weird.

I'm not a Strikers fan or a Daisy fan, but I can at least acknowledge that not having Daisy in a Strikers game is as dumb as Nintendo continuing to not include Waluigi in Wario games. However, since I kinda enjoyed the tutorials in the first strike demo for this game but still can't decide if I want this game, I'll let Daisy's inclusion be my coin flip for buying this game. I know other characters are missing too, but something like the Kremlings are probably out of question at this point if we're being realistic.

Hmm it's fine I guess, doesn't go hard enough, the last one had a lot more energy, it had amazing transitions, it had the initial shot of the public rushing to the court getting shocked on periferical net, which is something classic in football, the hoolingans hanging from that net and trying to get in! It had also the classic mud court! It just had a lot more heart in general

agreed. as for this opening, the 2D art stylization is really cool but the CGi itself is kind of lacking tbh. everything looks...stiff...and when a character steals the ball from another in this cutscene...it just looks weird, stiff, and lazy. idk. an animator could probably do a better job critiquing this than I but thats the best way I can describe it. I thought this same thing since they first showed part of the opening cutscene when they announced the game.

So they're really both about the same in terms of character selection but at least in this one you can choose multiple captains rather than being stuck with only one of the major mario characters.

I am getting this, but man, it isn't even remotely comparable to the opening cinematic for Charged. Even the audience getting electrocuted for trying to storm the playing field and the fact that the players would drop from a massive aircraft with a lightning core thingy with no parachutes on... How that opening set the stage... And the way that game's Mega Strikes made the captains look like deities... The metallic soccer ball... Waluigi's pelvic thrusting... And where did Bowser's Wolverine claws go?? Where'd Daisy go??? Few things go as hard as Charged did. This intro's got nothing on that. It's firmly in the original Super Mario Strikers territory... if anybody even remembers that game on the GC after Charged practically overshadowed it...

The 2D art stylization here is really cool but the CGi itself is kind of lacking tbh. everything looks...stiff...and when a character steals the ball from another in this cutscene...it just looks weird, stiff, and lazy. idk. an animator could probably do a better job critiquing this than I but thats the best way I can describe it. I thought this same thing since they first showed part of the opening cutscene when they announced the game.

@@LHSMeleeClub Nah, the animations are all good, technically speaking. It's more of a design decision. This game is drawing from the _original_ Strikers. So it's no surprise that it lacks the kinetic energy and overdose-levels of adrenaline that defined Charged. I don't think that was the right decision, but I dunno, might be my bias towards Charged speaking. I do think Charged is the objectively better game if we have to compare with the GC original, and I do believe most people will be comparing this game to Charged and be disappointed at the idea that Nintendo has mellowed out.

Mario Golf Super Rush's opening was more intense than this..... This feels slower than the previous Mario Strikers openings.

The intro isn't electrifying or edgy as charged. I am disappointed that the game won't have full content available at launch. Are we really going on wait 6 months just so they can add Daisy? This is unacceptable Nintendo...

It doesn’t compare to the one on the wii. The brutal and edginess is missing from this game. I hope they don’t treat Mario hoops 3 on 3 like this, if they ever decide to make it.
