Yum! I also love seeing how you plan this out and arrange the items. Honestly, I'd eat both. Supposedly, the higher the marbling for a cut of beef, the less you fuss with it? I'm just glad the other elements can help to cut the richness of that beef too. Also me: SPAM! YAY!

Probably the most epic sandwich I've ever seen and would love to try. You did a fantastic job Marion. About a year ago, I spent $112 on a filet of beef to make Beef Wellington and my husband almost had a heart attack when I told him how much it was. If I spent $470 on beef and caviar it would probably send him into shock.

I was completely confused at the egg stage, I've never seen omelette prepared in such a way before. You have reminded me that many months ago before I ended up spending a lot of time in hospital, I had wanted to order a Katsu Sando kit which included A5 Wagyu. I think recreating your premium sushi sandwich as a once off treat could be fun and potentially very tasty. I have to say, I'm a tad disappointed the recipe for the wagyu version wasn't available, I was hoping you would let us know where you got the wagyu and caviar from in Australia? Thankfully you mentioned this in below comments, Vic's meat for the Victorians. They also have expensive but incredibly tasty looking items, check out their specialty ingredients.

7 dollars for Spam! Yowzer! I think the budget version is still pretty high end! 😳😂
@offroadskater2 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I thought. For that amount I'd rather get chicken thighs, or pork schnitzel. Anything else, really... 1000g of beef mince is 8.99 Euro at my butcher. Not even a supermarket. Real family owned butcher. That means I'd probably get 500g of fresh, ground infront of my eyes, high quality beef mince for 7 dollars. That Spam is ridiculous.
@lorahiggins40062 жыл бұрын
I think the price of Spam has risen due to internet videos showing fancy uses. People are very much into Asian and Polynesian foods right now. And with the expansion of the availability of other ingredients like Kim chi, nori, etc recipes like this are booming in popularity! Sad to see Spam becoming less budget friendly but happy for the expansion of the public's taste in ethnic foods.

@@Marionskitchen What did you think after a few bites? I have heard some opinions suggesting the sheer amount of fat in A5 cut makes the meat too rich to eat more than a few bites, the people preferring a lower ranking cut instead. I am very much interested in your thoughts.
@thekiddocook15542 жыл бұрын
I think slicing the wagyu one was a bad idea as it had caviar in it too and caviar shouldn’t be touched by metal as it makes its flavor go bad and metallic.
