For the past week, I’ve been working on improving my German. I tried 7 different ways to learn languages from home in order to boost my German abilities. I always love experimenting with different methods, I will for sure add some these different activities to my language learning plan and keep using.
This is how I learn languages having fun and without classes. Let me know in the comments if you would like to see more of my study routine and my study plan!

I thought it was fascinating to hear parts of the German conversation at the end, How the language partner didn't interrupt to correct Mari over and over again, But allowed her to think through things herself and do her best, even if not accurate yet. For example, Mari seemed to always say "was" when she meant "war", but Katharina let Mari just keep going, since the point of the exercise Wasn't to speak German perfectly; just to give it a try. Sometimes I shy away from trying to converse because I want to be perfect from the outset, So this encouraged me to attempt to think and speak more in German even though I'm not fluent yet. Dankeschön for making this video, Mari! It's neat to see How you progress on your journey to German fluency! :)

Thanks, and I think the same way. It's important to let the speaker who attempts to speak a foreign language discover and try to use his or her own words, rather than interrupting him/her. Hope, you will have a great improvement in your German.:)

Hello I am glad you understand the point! And yes editing I realized how I always said was ( coming from dutch) Instead of war. Correction must be part of the conversation but only if it doesn't interrumpt the flow of the speaker! Good luck with your German

I can relate to everything you've said. It's crucial for anyone to schedule your routine while you're learning a language, because our brains need constant contact with the language we're learning, in fact, when we set up a routine for ourselves our brain will eventually get used to that routine and that will help it embibe not only the grammar and vocabulary, but also the pronounciation and rhythm of the language. Therefore, it's important to include different activies throught the week, because it makes learning a fun and effective process. Thanks for you're tips :) I'm brazilian, currently learning Spanish and my next goal wil be German :)

Awesome video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.

I like to do my studying mostly through playing video games and learning like a child, and partially serious with books and videos. By learning like I child I mean randomly pointing at things and saying the word, I listen to children's songs, I watch children's shows and read children's books. I'm personally more interested in learning how to read rather than speaking, though of course I'll end up learning a bit anyway.

Too bad I'm not a gamer haha. But I just found this Harry Potter RPG site where you do can take their classes and do "homework" which involves writing a few hundred words of your character in class incorporation certain things. In French. In the passé simple. It finally makes me use the passé simple. I had no idea how to make myself use it rather than just SEE it because writing a whole story in French seemed overwhelming and using it in a personal journal and such doesn't feel natural.

I'd suggest for the improvement of your pronunciation not to read (day 4) as it doesn't give you any clues nor feedback for pronunciation and written material distracts from pronunciation in general. I'd rather work with the corresponding audiobook (if available, if not then with some other audio material). Listening to it and right away speaking after and recording yourself sentence by sentence, then comparing the original with your recording and repeating each sentence until you can't hear a difference anymore (there will still be a difference which you will hear later when you listen again to the recordings after a couple of weeks or months). I recommend doing this on the computer with headphones and a program like audacity. Otherwise nice routine :) Cheers
@MariPolyglot
@MariPolyglot 3 жыл бұрын
haha thanks Angel yeah I'm familiar with the method and I do recommend it. I do record myself reading and since the vocab is more complicated I don't get distracted with meaning. Then I send the recording to my tutor and she tells me what are common mistakes I make, aka specific sounds I need to work on and then I do use native sounds to compare and improve the sounds (using minimal pairs). I want to see whether or not I can independently make the sounds without any reference.
@angelsjoker8190
@angelsjoker8190 3 жыл бұрын
@@MariPolyglot Ah ok, then it was more like testing your pronunciation (and then later work with the feedback). Working with minimal pairs is very good. All language learners should do it much more, in particular in the beginning. Unfortunately, almost no language courses have them and for most languages, it's quite hard to get good recordings. I think the lack of resources, methodology, and specific training is the main reason for the myth that adults can't get to a native-like pronunciation.
