Yesm Andy was very much a little version of Barry although I do think Barry was the better looking of the two. Robin and Maurice rarely did look like twins which was odd because each individual feature you can compare are very similar. Both the twins ended up being very attractive men indeed but it took them a while to grow into their looks. Barry I believe was born perfect and never stopped being perfect until his 60s and 70's. He's still attractive in the context of his age.

To all the people making ugly comments about his addiction.... Some people are predisposed to addiction. Everyone's Biological, physiological and psychological makeup is different. Some people can try a substance once and can get hooked. It doesn't make him a bad deplorable person it makes him a sick person. I've also heard TV interviews with Barry speaking of Andy having some type of heart condition that his family wasn't even aware he had until after his death. And his addiction only exacerbated that problem. I will always continue to remember Andy in the most loving light, he was a talented, pure and sweet soul.... the world has never been the same without him...🙏♥️😊

@Fred W That's a story Victoria made up and everyone believes her. She wasn't allowed at Andy's funeral. When asked why Barry said "We won't mention that name today". That says it all. Andy tried to get clean but VP insisted they go to parties where drugs were being used of course. Only one person mattered to VP and that was herself.
@beeharbour4 жыл бұрын
@Fred W Where does that diagnosis come from, if I may ask? He did stop the coke but only because it was hard to come by where he was staying with Robin in the last few weeks of his life but he just switched to alcohol which is easy to obtain almost everywhere. He was falling down drunk for the entire time he was there to the extent he'd knocked out his front teeth. There was no come back in the works although that may have been his press managers putting the best spin on his acts. Supposedly he was there to write some songs and make some demos which seems ludicrous because the leading role in his career was Barry not Robin (Of course I may be talking out my ass and basing that notion upon untrustworthy sources.) It hardly matters since he failed to ever be sober enough to do anything like writing songs or even stand up most of the time.

Andy & Victoria really were such an adorable couple. I loved the story of how they met. It tore me to pieces when he died. 💔 It’s a terrible shame that his addictions led to an untimely death, especially because he was on the path to recovery and getting back on track. People see him and think here’s a guy who had it all and threw it away but it’s a matter of perspective. Even the most successful, talented, most loved people can feel insecure, unloved and alone. Those inner demons were just too impossible for him to overcome. 😥
@kitamccleary65974 жыл бұрын
People don't seem to realize that most addictive personality types are generally sensitive, compassionate, deeply caring, and insecure people at the start. Also, performers are put on demand regardless of how they may feel at that moment or how tired or excited or depressed, etc...they aren't given the option to say, i'm going to play hooky today and call in sick. So a little booster or downer is sometimes what it takes to be able to be there on demand.
@phyllisirwin56603 жыл бұрын
Dr told me I don't have an addictive personality. Box of chocs, can't have just one. Guess we all have our weaknesses, hate having being controlled. Coke is like a joke, u can't wait till the next line! Back in the day, nobody really knew about coke's evil ways! At least all I was taught, JUST SAY NO &,WEED LEADS U TO HEROIN. When it didn't hard to trust adults.

Somebody said the art of singing or dancing its not so normal you feel so vulnerable especially if you don't act cause they write their pivate intimate emotions down and sing them so after performing you feel so empty you have to makeup for that emptiness especially with all the screaming on stage and adrenaline you go home and you are all alone nobody screamin for you that can be excrucieting if you don't have a good backup system!

Am watching this in 2022 and am shocked how many people want to blame VP or say she doesn't look like she loves Andy as much as he her. She was 8 years older and divorcing. A 30 something year old woman is not going to be googley-eyed and star-struck like an early 20 something woman would. Furthermore, she was an AIR FORCE child!! MILITARY!! She's going to be more mature anyway and far more structured, and expect the same. I had a huge crush on Andy Gibb, one of my first celebrity crushes. My sorrow is great that he wasn't allowed more time on Earth to get his footing. I pray he was accepted into Heaven and I hope Victoria is working towards making it there, too.

The year Andy died, I just read that Bee Gees announced Andy would be joining them turning their trio into a quartet. Can you imagine??
@beeharbour4 жыл бұрын
It was my understanding he was never going to be a Bee Gee because Robin and Maurice vetoed the notion. The last thing the Bee Gees needed was another vocalist; there was always an undercurrent of resentment over who sang what and how many songs could they get the lead. Andy would get leads himself and those were going to have to come from someone. Barry would not give up a nanosecond of his face time and mic time ever for any person, place or thing even for his so-called twin, Andy so that someone would have to be Robin. Barry was quick to praise Robin's voice but he tried to steadily reduce Robin's role until no one would ever say he had the better voice. It never quite worked because people have ears. Barry's voice kind of gave out on him but Robin's never did.

He was definitely being brought into the fold, I commented on this on a post for a live performance of "Shadow Dancing" that Andy did in Florida in 1987. Barry said they were bringing him into the group and studio to help record the album "One". He died in 1988 a couple months before it was recorded.
