A lot of people hated the last season but they don't realize that not everyone gets a happy ending in real life.
@user-hn9fl3mx5h5 жыл бұрын
I’ve been through sad endings in my life, so shows like this make me feel less alone. My unhappy endings aren’t related to this character, but I still feel her because I’ve had the moment of feeling like my entire life is truly truly over in a crushing way. People who haven’t experienced that react with anger because it is a frightening thought, but no matter what it is: you can get through it. She can still find so much to live for, it’s a painful thing but we all eventually have to make peace with how unfair life can be and find joy anyway

@waitselljones80684 жыл бұрын
I don't hate the final season and I was fully expecting not good endings for most. Tastee's ending was sad but I saw it coming. However... Karla's ending was unnecessarily cruel. Like real life but... man I did not need to see that for such a loving character. I wish if that had to be shown, it would have happened to someone else. But yea, I was sad about Karla being deported but I wish they didn't include that last scene of her presumed horrible death, alone and without anyone knowing she died.
@monetirvin42614 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's something that I had to come to grips with. At first I was like, "This sucks. Some of these girls got a shitty ending" but then I realized, that's real life. They didn't want the show to have some perfect, candy coated ending. I get it.
@bgb4114 жыл бұрын
@@waitselljones8068 I read an article about Karla's ending recently. The writers had a huge debate over it, but the selling point for them was when in real life, a Guatemalan woman died trying to get to her kids. They felt like it was a sign, and something they need to shed light on so that people can understand the many different immigration stories. I get where you're coming from. That was such a horrific way to leave things for her, but they wanted to get us upset. It's harder to close your eyes to something like that once it feels a little more personal, and I think a lot of people were touched by Karla's story, tragic though it be.

This scene is so powerful. It shows that even the most beautiful and infectiously vibrant person in the prison could have everything taken from her. The show could have shown Flaca or another inmate in this sequence instead of Maritza, but they wanted to make a point. In most country ilegal inmigration is not a crime but a misdemeanor, If the person deported is a national of the receiving country, she will walk free. But she will have to get Colombian documents and I hope some help from her family or goverment. And her family probably would be poor enough for wanting to emigrate but rich enough to get a US Visa, since Colombians often overstay they Visas when they inmigrate ilegaly to the US, she is no border jumper.

I mean most of them put themselves in that position and didn’t make the right moves at the right time I think during the riot is when they all fucked up should’ve insured the CO didn’t die as well as delegate a council to speak to Caputo and Figueroa so taystee ain’t the one to make the call cause she to emotional and didn’t understand the fragility of the situation and those other ones should have escaped like Chang did that would’ve been my first thought always escape the prison especially if you’re lesser known they all messed up not joining together until the end Red being to caught up on revenge and the Spanish girls being to selfish or self centered doom them all Daya not saying she was pressured and forced to shoot Humps as sad as Maritza situation is she has hope she ain’t stuck in a max facility for being part of the riot I rather deportation than imprisonment, Poussey would have gotten Justice especially after they would have agreed to terms but Taystee threw all that out for semantics they should’ve known she wasn’t the best person to leave in charge of negotiations because she doesn’t think rationally, she decided prison was better than being freed from season 2 I knew it would end well if she was the sole one determining the riot negotiations they had 5 days and still fucked it up I feel for all the women but they should have capitalized on the riot in season 5 and the rest of season 6 and 7 wouldn’t have happened

She can, but the real Diane Guerrero with all her fame and money had not being able to get her parents back into the US after nearly 20 years. I mean she met president Obama and she coulnt do it.........So its not easy. Most Colombians rather emigrate to the EU, other latin countries like Panama or Chile or even Australia or Canada than the US, for those reasons. Colombians are not border jumpers, her family most likely entered the US legaly by plane and overstayed their visas. Same for the family of Maritza. So they were wealthy enough to qualify for a US VISA. And could not do it!
