Its important for vatican to be an independent country, so that the church will not be a subject to any country political interest. You can see how the patriach of Alexandria ( pope of coptic orthodox church) suffer because of the policies of the ruling party of Egypt, and before that sultans and calips. So no. We do not call ourself as Roman Catholic because we live in Rome. But we call our self Roman Catholics because qe follow the Roman Rite. Sorry for my english. Here is the actual explanation guys: Wedding Ceremony One of the little-known aspects of Jewish culture was the wedding ceremony. When a bride and groom were to be married, a celebration would ensue. It took time to prepare the meals, the water, the wine, as well as for people to make travel plans to attend the wedding. Of course, in order to prepare for such a celebration, people had to know what day the wedding would occur. The custom of the groom was to prepare a room-addition to the father’s house. This is where the new bride and groom would reside after the wedding. it was the custom that the father would then “officially” declares the room addition ready and give the son permission to go get his bride. Of course, the trumpeters were waiting for the official command by the father of the household for the son to go get the bride. It was customary to say that no one knew the day nor the hour when the father would send the son to get the bride. It was a sign of respect for the father. It was a cultural thing. So, when Jesus said that no one knows the day nor the hour, he was reflecting the cultural norm. It did not mean he did not actually know the day nor the hour.

Might this also be a correlation to 1st century Jewish weddings? It's my understanding that the father of the bridegroom would signal the time for the bride to be officially claimed, and his son would then leave the family residence, announce his arrival with a loud shout, a blowing of the shofar, and until that night, the bride had no idea when she would be taken back to the father-in-law's house to complete the marriage. Yes there is some parallel to that and the Bride must be "set apart" until the husband comes back, That is what we the Church must do, we have to be set apart from the pleasures of this word until the Lord Jesus comes back for us. Other thing is that usually wile the husband is away, he is preparing a house for he and his wife, and sometimes this demand a great time do financial or distance, that is why Jesus say that he will go and prepare mansions for us.

I prefer the explanation by Sam Shamoun on one of his earlier videos explaining that not knowing doesn't neccessary mean ignorance but to conceal something in this context. Scriptural reference(1 Corinthians 2:1-2 and Acts 1:6-7). This explanation coupled with the "Jewish cultural wedding" illustration makes much more sense than denying Christ's omniscience although he was human.

It’s really hard, if their hearts are not open its incredibly difficult and you will leave very frustrated. But a good scripture I just discovered is go back to the Quran, one of the names of Allah is the First and The Last and then direct them to revelations 22:13 and relegations 1:8 I believe and Jesus with his own lips (because this is all Muslims want to hear) and this will prove that Jesus is God!

When read in context, Mark 13:19-33 raises a problem. How can the Son details exactly those events and does not even know the day or the hour. When scrutinized deeply, it is about the declaration of the last day. It belongs uniquely to the Father to declare the Last hour but the Son.

As a Christian I do have to say that Jesus was very clear about Him only being here to bring glory to our Father. So he really doesn't want praise like one would think. He wants us all to praise the Father, not Him. How we do that isn't by glorifying Jesus though. He states it's by loving each other and knowing in our heart who Jesus is and what He stands for. We aren't supposed to put Him side by side with the Father but He's right below because He is not the Father. He is the Son who is slightly below the Father. I hope this makes sense. The Scriptures give us an analogy of how everything works. It is like a king giving his son the throne but is still alive. That doesn't happen in the real world but its as close as it can get.

Mark 13:32 - If you will read the whole chapter; For me, Jesus did say to them intentionally that "even the Son of Man did not know it", but I'm pretty sure that Jesus knows the exact time because He told them all the signs, Jesus just don't like to create havoc from the people. Jesus clearly means in this verse that if somebody or anybody by dreams, by visions or by what any means tells you the exact time don't believe it because it is a surprise. Jesus did really know but He concealed it from us because He loves us and Jesus wants us to follow Him in our own free will.

Hi there! I am very familiar with the verse itself, and I also heard and read different arguments about how could Jesus be God, if he even don't know the very hour. I had learned in the video that it is because Jesus was in the human form that time. Now, I WANT TO RAISE SOME ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS REGARDING THE VERSE: If Jesus said he "don't know the hour" because he was in the human form, what about the Spirit? Why is the Spirit, being a divine, non-human person of God in the Trinity, also do not know about the hour, but only the Father? I hope you will notice this question, it is my pleasure if you did. I just encountered such arguments not from a muslim, but from a "christian" sect here in the Philippines called "Iglesia Ni Cristo" (Church Of Christ in English), which denies the deity of Christ. Its really a difficult question for me to answer, yet I do not lose faith, and still completely believe in Christ my Lord, my Saviour, my God. I am an Iglesia ni Cristo | Church of Christ member. I think that the trinity doctrine is a contradiction. Christ was able to do what he did because he said "I can do nothing on my own. I judge as God tells me." John 5:30 NLT. "All authority and on earth has been given to me." Matthew 28:18 NIV. "The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand." John 3:35 ESV. The argument that Christ doesn't know the day and hour of his own second coming because he was limited or veiled due to his human nature is pretty lame. It's crystal clear that Christ said "ONLY the Father" knows, period. Christ himself introduced who the Father is, "Father, the hour has come.. that they may know you, the ONLY true God." John 17:1, 3 NKJV. I don't think being veiled or limited of his knowledge has nothing to do with it. Otherwise, that phrase "Only the Father" knows should not have been written at all.

In Mark 13:32 the greek word for ”know” is ”declare”, because Jesus knows the time, He tells that its not for Him to declare it. (Because people would sin and sin until the day of judgement). Jesus is detail for detail telling you what is going to happen that day and you think He doesnt know the day? He talked about the destruction of the temple, destruction of the city, persecutions, rebuilding of that temple, abomination of the antichrist, sun will be darkened. Jesus is not speaking of knowledge when He is speaking about ignorance, Jesus is declarative. Good example of this is (1 Corinthians 2) when Paul wrote: ”For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified”. It doesnt mean Paul doesnt knows anything. So when Jesus lays detail by detail and saying that the Son doesnt know the hour. He is not saying He is ignorant, He is saying that its not for Him to make known to them. Very good example of this is (Acts 1:6-7): ”Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, ’It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.’” Notice how He doesnt say ”Its not for us to now” He doesnt say ”I told you guys, I dont know”. Instead He answers its not for you to know. In chapters before Jesus explains how He will be like a jewish weeding, and in jewish tradition its the Father that anounces the day of the wedding, its not the bride or the groom even if they know. Christ as fully human could not know the time of the end as that contradicts the nature of humans as beings within linear time. Look what happens to people who convince themselves they know the exact time of the end, they have breakdowns, become cult-ish and generally don't cope well. I made a video on this. This is the hypocrisy of Trinitarians. They teach that in Mark 13:32 (not 22) Jesus is speaking as a man or human although he is God. When Oneness people apply this same exact explanation to Jesus' praying, fasting, summitting to the Father, they completely disagree. Some go as far as saying, "was Jesus praying to himself?" So this is highly hypocritical! It shows tremendous inconsistency with Trinitarian thinking.
