Mark III is absolutely my favourite type of armor because it perfectly encapsulates the uncompromising nature of my favourite Chapter, the Iron Hands. Absolutely lovely to see you use them both.

The MK III was Great Crusade armor. The MK IV is the Heresy armor, and the most common Heresy-era suit because of how widely made it was.

Once more uncle Baldy you've brought us something brilliant, Mk3 power armour. Now here's the thing, I see this rather brutal yet deliberately designed war plate in use today, with certain modifications (spikes, added pieces etc) and in use with traitor marines, almost as if the war master himself knew his heretical legions would need such a load out to fight the Emperor in order to have a chance of winning. The aforementioned deliberate gathering in secret (no doubt) of such war plate must have taken some time to put in place without alerting any of the Emperors guard, and if I'm not mistaken, before the Inquisitors had even been raised? Obviously this was before the Grey Knights too, so, my understanding as an engineer, leads me to suspect Horus knew of it's potential and wanted as many suits as possible ready to be used in his quest to destroy the Emperors legions. Nearly worked too. Thank you sire, you really do get the juices flowing, it's not just the equipment or the stories, it's the way you blend them into something almost tangible, and how they all leap off the page so to speak; so when is your turn on Jackanory? lol lol

i always found it really strange that the imperium over 10 thousand years has only been able to develop 10 marks of power armour and Tony Stark was able to produce like 85 MKs of iron man armour with tech that is literally stone age level tech by comparison and the Imperium has the mechanics where each individual member is like 50 tony starks.

A significant number of the difrent armors Tony names are variations /customizations rather than completely new designs it would be like classifying the chapter by chapter variations as new armor models.

power armour is based on STC tech so if they don't find the blueprint they don't make it, and power armour was never even intended as combat armour so the variations are probably limited to whatever specific task it was intended for, probably just mining. Also there's really only 5 marks of armour (2,4,6,7,10) in terms of actual exoskeleton structure.

Tony Stark doesn't need to appease the Omnissiah prior to making changes. Besides, each armor variant the Astartes have are totally adequate for their purpose, therefore no changes needed. Not to mention Tony Stark would be burned as a heretic for his innovation, lol.

It’s interesting to note that, despite the MKIII armor the Imperium was unable to defeat the squats during the great crusade and signed a treaty of alliance to bring them into the fold. Current lore states that in reality only a minimal number of them actually joined while the bulk of the Leagues kept to themselves inside the galactic core

@@Kropothead the fact they the leagues of Votann originally came from Terra is stated outright, so yes, they are actually abhuman (they possibly changed during their journey to adapt to the conditions encountered in the galactic core) and besides squats are considered abhuman inside the Imperium. That said, yes, generally speaking imperial officials do not recognize Leagues of Votann members as squats and call them xenos (same goes for the so called demiurges who are just a league who trades with the Tau). That ‘s just the usual imperial ignorance/bigotry it work though.
