In this sermon at First Baptist Church of Lake Waccamaw, Pastor Matthew Tarpley teaches from the fourth chapter of the book of Mark, verses 26-34. We learn here about the parables of the kingdom of God, as Jesus compares it to a man casting seed and the growth and harvest that happens from such a small seed. God’s providence over our lives, works, evangelism, and even salvation is evident.
We learn about the growth of the kingdom, since the covenant with Abraham, to Jesus Christ, to the graphing in of the Gentiles, and to believers today. God does great works through such small beginnings as He shows how great He is, for everything is for His glory! God has brought about great growth and continues to do so. He keeps His promises and preserves His people, and He’s coming back to reap the harvest!
The parables are about the gospel, and we shall see the richness of God’s glorious good news when we understand them!
