They would put them in jail for a few hours and then tell them that their charges would be dropped as long as they signed a paper saying that they would no longer protest. That goes against the 1st amendment. Republicans and tRump don't care about the constitution. They see it as a barrier to enacting the legislation that helps them and their largest donors.
