The biggest mistake Rian Johnson and JJ Abrams to a certain degree did was introduce the new cast as replacement pieces rather than integrating. We will never get a scene with everyone because not even Luke, Han, and Leia got reunited. And that was a big mistake.

It sounds a lot better than it would actually be. I mean, three old people hanging out together? You know how that would be, just a goofy "remember when" scene. How many reunion specials have actually been good?

IndyDefense I'm pretty sure most of them have been good, when executed properly. Don't automatically assume it would've been bad. It certainly would've been better than what we got.

Juan S...actually JJ DID integrate the new with the old, he had set up the premise of the story in Force Awakens where ''old characters meet the new''....and ALL Rian had to do was take it from there and do the buildup AND set up the climax..so it can be resolved and finished in Episode 9. Even though he introduced some good ideas, Rian dropped the ball on a few things. Also Han was never going to be united with Luke because Harrison Ford wanted his character to no longer be apart of the Star Wars universe after Episode 8. In JJ's original draft Luke was *never* supposed to have died in ep. 8, Rian took it upon himself to make that decision and unfortunately, Carrie Fisher passed before Episode 9, Luke & Leia were to be featured together *more* in Episode 9, so no one [of course] saw that death coming. Sooo, even though it would have been nice to 'have the old gang back together' in Ep. 7, that wasn't how the story was set up and the trilogy was supposed to have the ''official'' end of the Skywalker saga in Episode 9, unfortunately there are no more Skywalkers, except one....and he's only half Skywalker. So it's going to be interesting to see how JJ ends this.

IndyDefense...YES only half Skywalker, it is the FATHER'S name who holds more weight not the mother's, regardless of who she is.... *unless* both parties agree that the wife/courtesan/whatever can keep her maiden name. In Leia's case, she would be an *Organa* regardless of what blood flows thru her veins, because she wouldn't disrespect her adopted parents like that and THEN she becomes a Solo. SO, no matter how many times Kylo Ren denies it, he IS a Solo because of his father....with *strong* Skywalker blood in him, so he is basically 50-50.
