I have grown to really enjoy Gary Cole as Parker. He has been a breath of fresh air with his more relaxed method of leadership and shows appreciation of the skills and attributes of his team members. That having been said, Gibbs will always be welcome to visit any darn time he wants to. He is missed and so great!

I'm perfectly happy with the way the show works now. Gary Cole is absolutely a "breathe of fresh air". He's not surly or a sour puss, which is what Gibbs turned into. In the beginning, he was a 'womanizer' and charmer, remember all those different woman he had picking him up.... then he turned into a bitter man. Okay, it was the story line but it was hard to take most times. Leave it alone.............

I would love to see him come back in an episode or two but he’s getting a little long in the tooth so he may not have the energy that is needed to do stunts and I don’t blame him. He’s a fantastic actor I miss him in the show.

Yup ... Wrote this below before reading your comment. --> On a more general note; Gibbs had to go sometime. I'm European, and we often see lead actors on 'cop shows' basically becoming irrealistic because they are starting to show their age. There was one not so long ago, where the writers had to somehow find a way to let the lead character pass his physical fitness test, because it became quite clear a police officer in his 'condition' would've long since been parked behind a desk. A wee bit like David McCallum, i.e. Dr Mallard, is now NCIS official historian. There are lots of other examples. Gibbs was starting to approach the stage, whether he was a popular character or not is therefore becoming less relevant. I don't think Gibbs chasing a bad guy in his wheelchair in episode 10 of series 31 would've worked. There are limits to what you can get away with.

I've been binge-watching NCIS on dvd, catching up on everything and everyone. Just started watching Season 16 last night. Abby's gone and Kasey has not yet started working at NCIS. I'm just waiting for Season 20 to come out on dvd. And I think that the ONLY way that Gibbs would return, storyline wise is if Parker, McGee, and Torres are working a case that somehow also connects back to Gibbs and McGee is seriously injured or is missing in connection with the case. And Gibbs somehow hears about it.

I used to love NCIS but with people leaving i started to miss episodes, Denozo and Ziva was amazing and i really missed Denozo. When Abby left i was really reluctant to keep watching but now Gibbs has left i wont come back, too much change is bad lol. Gibbs was awesome.

How many know Mark Harmon was the winning QB in the Rose Bowl years ago? I have never watched NCIS and have no idea what it is about, but I've seen him in a few movies he's been in.

Mark Harmon played QB for UCLA in 1972-1973. He went 17-5 and undrafted. He didn't play in the Rose Bowl. 1972 was the Stanford Indians, who also won in 1971. 1973 was the USC Trojans, who appeared in the next three. I watched Mark Harmon play and am a fan of Stanford.

Over the years all of the characters have taken on "Gibbsisms" such a Rule #9. The Gibbs character played so well by Harmon, is still present in every episode (all but physically). Write Gibbs back in and let "Parker" assume Weatherly's slot.

My biggest issue with NCIS is they give the impression that cops or agents who have a gun pointed at them are supposed to wait for the bad guy to shoot before they can shoot. Survival doesn’t work that way

Mark Harmon had been 'phoning it in' for a long time and it was a relief when he left. You could tell he didn't want to be there. Gibbs character would storm in, demand results and leave. I'm glad he left and hope he does not return.

I could see Gibbs returning as a firearms instructor at FLETC teaching all the baby agents how to shot.He's getting on rather to be a team leader especially out in the field,most are probably DiNozzo or McGee's age. It has to be something special bringing back Gibbs a lot of water has passed under the bridge since he took to the road. A very slim chance that there is an old foe from his past could reemerge from the past case of a very different Gibbs years in NCIS achieves one that Gibbs couldn't solve at that time so this cold case has been a secret one locked away. Or a serious accident brings Gibbs back to NCIS headquarters because Timothy McCee is involved and in a hospital bed and his life hangs on a thread and the accident wasn't as plane as it seemed, Tim was looking into a couple of old files containing information about a very old JAG case about a kidnapping and death of a former NCIS agency officer assigned to a mafia case and navy officer who disappeared around the same time of the kidnapping. Timothy found something very dangerous out and it was connected to Gibbs and his family's death an uncharted set of secret files. Timothy was about to call Gibbs and bang he was in the hospital lying in bed unconscious and in his hand was a note " They A Life? ". The Return: Gibbs NCIS, the old friends gather a memory shared a dark secret arises an old friend leaves a message from beyond the grave. Timothy is hospitalised and leaves NCIS an old face helps the team recover the team hugs the lights fade and Gibbs smiles like never before he is sad but knows his home music plays in the background an old voice from the past says Bag Up lets go. NCIS continues. Timothy will return but as team leader and more importantly his new boss will be surprising everyone with a new chapter a new location in Washington and some stories from the past and future a dear friend returns and a former FBI agent? And Gibbs similarly has finished a new boat. And in charge of NCIS a job he never wanted but knows it will do?

Also, this video DID NOT REVEAL WHY GIBBS WANTS TO RETURN TO NCIS NOR IF HE REALLY IS! The only way it'll happen, is if a Marine is murdered in Alaska and the agents doesn't even realize the possibility of them seeing Gibbs again, as he'd be able to help out during the investigation, since he's a highly trained -suspended- federal agent, a trained sniper and a carpender both in the series and irl, meaning he's got an eye for detail, which I suspect is a must for full-time carpenters. He'd be of big help for the team during the case, and I also really really really really want more McLilah scenes. And show us the twins! Where is McGee's sister, Sarah?! Why was she only in 4 episodes?! I miss her, because Troian Bellisario is the real life _step-sister_ of _Sean Murray_ so them portraying blood siblings on the show is hilariously logical!
