Once the space station can no longer operate, would it be be much more expensive to "park" the ISS somewhere, to preserve it as a historical monument for future generations? Or, since it took an huge amount of energy to launch the 450 tons into orbit, could it be economical trying to land this mass at the site of future missions (e.g. on the Moon), so it could serve as a big (backup) materials/scrap/resource depot, potentially lowering the cost of future missions?

Good vid. The interview itself is worth the entire vid. But, jeez, 5 minutes and 30 seconds of monologs? New viewers coming to your channel will have been attracted to Sen. Kelly. And therefore know All Things Spaceflight. There's already 'national territory' on the Moon. The Apollo landing sites, and their traversed perimeters. Humans are territorial, especially as part of an institution. Once permanent structures are built on the Moon, that 'territory' will be defended. Unless we go the Antarctica model. We'll see.
