Mark Knopfler one of the best guitar player on the world . His unforgotebeel style , feeling and talent make him very special person . Mark is also great composer . His warm and great voice is very moody and special . Thx Mark for your great Gift .

Very cool!! I believe that Sonny took a leg in the second fight with Ali, as for the first one, I just think he was overwhelmed by the hype and how fast Ali was back then. Sonny was tough, there is no dispute. Just those bloody gangsters who ran boxing. No need say more, except love this tune.

Cool to see a Slingerland drum in 2009! Thought they were all gone. :-D Nice music too - and a sad story. The story of Charles "Sonny" Liston really makes my heart cry. I'd probably never would have known about him at all, if it wasn't for you. Thanks again, Mark; you're a wonder! Keep it up, please!

Mark, your voice has always fascinated me. From back in the break out days of “Money For Nothing”, et al, when I was @ 17. And my appreciation for what you do with your guitar 🎸 has only magnified with my knowledge of your instrument! We have all grown up and have mellowed some throughout the years, but on you, I think it’s made for a more comfortable, talented (if that’s even possible!), generous of spirit, and more of a “people’s person”(does that make sense?). I hope that I have an opportunity to talk with you someday, as I would love to share life stories with you. Some people you get a certain “feeling” from, and other, maybe more “famous” ones you could sit and spend hours with and be bored as a pickle in a jar of cucumbers 🥒! lol! I don’t say this @ many people. I would rather spend my time alone with myself, as I don’t find many people that interesting as to bother with. I know that may sound terrible, and I’m NOT a terrible person! And maybe I feel this way, because I have spent so many years in the public eye 👁, working jobs bartending and waiting tables both before I put myself through College and while I was going to College, as I did it all on my own (along with loans, grants, work study jobs plus my own jobs). So for many many years I felt like I was EXPOSED, and I guess I was! I was at the front line with no place to hide! But I was VERY GOOD at my job, and I could put on a flirtatious face, but a caring one too, as I always had my regulars who became kinda like a family of sorts to me. Which was great and made for a very profitable job. I graduated with a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State University, and I was proud of myself for accomplishing that goal of mine. I went on to work for different government agencies in CO, OR, and finally Montana! The stories I could share with you 😳! lol! Anyway, We’re both mature enough to appreciate what our life experiences have taught us, and if you’re interested send me a message, or something. This is NOT a come-on!!! 🤯 If you feel better e-mailing, hmmmm….. I don’t want everyone else out there to have my email address. Are you on Facebook messenger? Find me there and I will give it to you that way!! Take care! Until next time! 💜

Lyrics: So many mouths to feed on the farm Sonny was the second to the last one born His mama ran away and his daddy beat him bad And he grew up wild good love he never had He had a left like Henry's hammer A right like Betty Bamalam Rode with the muggers in the dark and dread And all them sluggers went down like lead Well he hung with the hoods he wouldn't stroke the fans But he had dynamite in both his hands Boom bam like the slammer door The bell and the can and the bodies on the floor Beware the bear's in town Somebody's money says the bear's going down Yeah, the bear never smiles Sonny's going down for miles and miles Sonny's going down for miles and miles The writers didn't like him the fight game jocks With his lowlife backers and his hands like rocks They didn't want to have a bogeyman They didn't like him and he didn't like them Black Cadillac alligator boots Money in the pockets of his sharkskin suits Some say the bear took a flop They couldn't believe it when they saw him drop He had a left like Henry's hammer A right like Betty Bamalam Rode with the muggers in the dark and dread And all them sluggers went down like lead Joe Louis was his hero he tried to be the same But a criminal child wears a ball and chain So the civil rights people didn't want him on the throne And the hacks and the cops wouldn't leave him alone Beware the bear's in town somebody's money says The bear's going down Yeah, the bear never smiles Sonny's going down for miles and miles Sonny's going down for miles and miles At the foot of his bed with his feet on the floor There was dope in his veins and a pistol on the drawer There was no investigation as such He hated needles but he knew too much Cris-crossed on his back Scars from his daddy like slavery tracks The second-last child was the second-last king Never again was it the same in the ring He had a left like Henry's hammer A right like Betty Bamalam Rode with the muggers in the dark and dread And all them sluggers went down like lead They never could be sure about the day he was born A motherless child set to working on the farm And they never could be sure about the day he died The bear was the king they cast aside Beware the bear's in town Somebody's money says the bear's going down Yeah, the bear never smiles Sonny's going down for miles and miles Sonny's going down for miles and miles Some day they're gonna write a Blues for fighters.
