Definitely one of the best guitarists alive today. If you asked me if I wanted to see Paul McCartney and Ringo playing a reunion gig or Knopfler with his current band, I'd have to pick Knopfler. Oh, I've always loved Mark's vocals as well. Do they have a ton of range? Perhaps not, but they're the ideal understated, narrator-style accompaniment to his music. To me he almost sounds like the Geordie rock version of a Morgan Freeman narration track... very steady, reassuring, deeply personal. Mark is a true artist and I believe he's well aware of his (few) limitations. He crafts his songs such that they suit his voice perfectly, IMO. Anyway, hope your Sunday suits you perfectly!

This is so cool. Mark's music (Dire Straits) to include his solo noise is just so relaxing, it reminds me of my early US Navy sailor days in Hania, Crete, Greece. How this brings back so many awesome memories...English ladies too! This is the song I'd want at my "burial at sea" ceremony. You rock Mark!
