1:47 "We smell sausage" = "Jesus loves you" in reverse. This could only come from the most creative and brilliant minds of electronic music. He's very modest and gracious about the amount of effort and time it probably took him to find this gem and share it with the rest of us mutants.

"When I was first writing music was in the late 60s. I was looking for instruments that made sounds that were more relevant to our culture, that were the things that sounded like what I heard on the news. My name is Mark Mothersbaugh, but everyone calls me Mark"

Mark is a legend and genius. As a kid listening to Devo you just took the music for granted but as an adult, I realize Devo was so way ahead of their time. I get upset when someone only knows them for "Whip It" There is so much to this band that goes way beyond their pop hit. They had brass balls for going against the grain of everything at the time. Love them or hate them they left a huge dent in music history with zero imitators.

DEVO's music is cutting edge and way ahead of its time! One only has to listen to there 3 biggest selling albums which are Freedom of Choice, New Trads and Oh No its Devo to hear how groundbreaking & technologically advanced they are! No other band made music like DEVO! They are as musically important and influential as Kraftwerk! Culturally too as far as thought provoking lyrics goes! The lyrics and video clip for 'Beautiful World' even has relevance today with COVID 19 and the Black Lives Matter riots in 2020!
