Every time I see a snooker pro take on the pool pro’s I think: not bad at all, but now let’s see how they’ll do the other way ‘round…. I think I’ll know the outcome for sure. The top-snooker players are in a whole different planet when it comes to que-ball precision.

Not that I want to spin that "Snooker vs. pool" thing again, but, that's just how it is: A Snooker pro can play a professional pool tournament, and has a chance of winning it, but you won't see that vice versa. Snooker is just a much better school over all. Would like to see more pool players try Snooker, but, I'm afraid that none of them would really do well. That's also probably why we just don't see it.

It used to be a complete slagging if you got 'grannied' at pool. However if you're an elite level player and fail to pot on the break you're almost always not getting back to the table that frame.

Yes for any current official rules. Both International and Blackball rules are set up this way. If you set them up different when you play then you are probably using rules that are 20 years out of date!

I've been racking this way for over ten years here in Dallas TX. Someone brought it to my attention and suggested it offered a fairer break. The other two ways I used to play was 8 ball in the middle, and a solid on one corner and a stripe on the other. That, or the one most people learned - solid stripe solid all the way around
