OK, I gotta admit that I used to think that Mark was a bit fake and thought everything was mind blowingly delicious but after my two best friends did a trip overseas and religiously followed his recommendations, they both came back HUGE FANS of mark (mind you, they are both very picky eaters) & they said everything that he said was head turning delicious ACTUALLY WAS to die for. So he is telling the truth when he turns his head and says something is delicious. Other than that, he is just extremely respectful and doesn’t want to ruin someone’s business or livelihood. I know he is too polite though.

I'm pretty sure he did some research before eating at these location. He did admit he isn't a picky eater and because he has such a big following, I don't think he would say anything negative since what he said can effect their business. Better to just be positive.

I stop watching his channel because it the same old thing, just a different location, and different food selection but you know what to expect.

In Asian cultural, it's important show respect but in western cultural, especially American culture, its important to be independent and upfront. I agree with you totally that his show isn't about putting rude comments to put people down, but rather take a more positive altitude. But that philosophy can work for you or against you. Some people feels that its great while other think its disingenuous. It's just a matter of perspective.

He’s a polite person so many people just got use to people being rude and disrespectful and find that “normal” but it’s not. Like I teach my children if you don’t like something you’re eating you don’t go saying it tastes disgusting or if you see someone eating something you don’t like, but rather say it’s not my favorite food to eat because when you call something disgusting people who actually like it and find it delicious it’s hurtful to hear or even people who may want to try it and may end up loving it but you call it disgusting and they choose not to try it...he has respect for others and I find him very genuine and humble compared to many food bloggers even famous well known food travelers on TV.

I have a feeling😌 ppl in the comments got to him because over the yrs and I've been following him on FB for the past 4 to5 yrs and the ppl would say things like "Ohhhh come on Mark" , you always say it's good,or "OHHHHHH WOW"‼️there is noooo wayyyy everything you eat taste delicious. He's just a sweetie and very respectful to different cultures. I've learned that everyone's taste pallet is different so what he likes and what I like would be different. However! I think the a lot of ppl have voiced their opinions about him giving an honest answer and his ppl probably said start being a little more honest but still show respect at the same time otherwise ppl are going to stop taking your opinions seriously and NOT try what you've recommended.
