Mark came to a club in the South Wales valleys last April where he played some local snooker players. He scored two 147 breaks that afternoon, absolutely amazing player and such a gentleman. He had time for everyone and was happy to sign autographs and have photos taken.

Let’s make it quite CLEAR, MARK WILLIAMS, is NOT and old man, he is still one of the most consistent snooker player on the circuit. And is still very very capable of winning the world championship and many other tournaments. He is wonderful to watch when in form. And a great personality to the wonderful game.

Something I love about snooker is how I get the feeling of ageing along with the players. I’m almost exactly the same age as Stephen Hendry and just a few years older than Williams and O’Sullivan. Just noticed the similarity of the grey in Mark Williams’ close cropped hair to my own. When I started watching him I had more hair and no grey. It’s been a pleasure to watch all these superb craftsmen down the years. Williams was magnificent in that break.
