Never, I think Penrose and Hoffman are right! We are as far as we know, the only conscious beings in existence. Perhaps there are conscious creators or other conscious agents in the universe, but at the end of the day, we have no true understanding of consciousness, we only know that it seems to be fundamental. Without solving the hard problem of consciousness this just seems impossible to me
