Most historical films are made with many inaccuracies. Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970) is NOT one of them. This is my favourite scene in this film.
SPOILER ALERT If you haven't seen the film yet, you may want to.
If you think you have heard of December 7th 1941 and the attack on Pearl Harbor, this gives you the story from those that were there on both sides, the drama, the daring, the mistakes and the tragedy.
Whilst the ships in the harbor were being bombed, so too were the airfields, and that's when a flight of B-17 bombers, not fully equipped after a long flight, came smack into the middle of the attack.
You couldn't make this up and out of all the lines in this film, the squadron leader says all my favourite lines, with my particular favourite being the first one: "what the hell kind of traffic control is this?"
Other, of my favourite lines are from actors Neville Brand and Martin Balsam - the latter who's particular line has gone down in history.
*Warning: Contains a racial slur today considered offensive, used in historical context here and after WWII, when it was deemed as offensive, its use was dropped dramatically.
