As a unique culture which owed its spiritual origins to Indian Hinduism, the UNESCO World Heritage Site My Son Sanctuary is located in a beautiful Vietnamese tropical forest; the ancient ruined Hindu temples dated back almost 2,000 years ago. The temples are the "masterpieces of brick construction of the period, both in terms of the technology of their construction and because of their intricate carved-brick decorations", which still remains a mystery till this day. The building technique and materials of My Son Sanctuary have been puzzling scientists for centuries. According to unesco.org, "The My Son Sanctuary is a remarkable architectural ensemble that developed over a period of ten centuries. It presents a vivid picture of spiritual and political life in an important phase of the history of South-East Asia. The monuments are unique and without equal in Southeast Asia."

Your pronunciation of the Vietnamese names is spot on (northern Vietnamese accent). It is like hearing a local.

Champa civilization is part of Malayo-Polynesia and the lingo itself is of Austronesian family and sounds similiar to Achenese of Indonesia and hinduism there similiar to the one in Bali. Vietnamese people is not indeginous to South Vietnam, but Cham people yes.

I saw in one video that Cham abounded the cause and run to the hills and mountains when attacked by the Mongolia and I believe it’s my people coz we live in northeast side of India with no trace where we came from only think we know is that we came from the river side and we name Mongko only if the father or grandfather cuts the head of enemies so I want to do more research and trace (Even our facial structures looks alike )

It's said that most of the Cham population in Cambodia were killed off by China-backed Khmer Rouge during the horrific Cambodian genocide 1975-1979. However, Cham population as one of Vietnam's 54 minorities, has thrived reaching almost half a million people.

In 12th century, the Cham defeated Khmer Empire at Angkor in Cambodia. The Khmer Empire ended with the fall of Angkor in the 15th century. Since then, Angkor has been abandoned entering a spiral of decline from which it never recovered. Sadly, in 1970s, China-backed Khmer Rouge nealy wiped out the Cham population in Cambodia. Fortunately, the Vietnamese as Cambodia’s liberator came to rescue by defeating China-backed Khmer Rouge. In 2014, Khmer Rouge leaders were jailed for life by a UN-backed court, which found them guilty of crimes against humanity and responsible for the deaths of almost half of the Cambodian population.
