We've actually seen that. We drove up one weekend when there was a lot of snow forecast, and it was so pretty. We walked around on the lake while people fished and rode snowmobiles. It was so nice and peaceful.

Great little vieo of the lake and your family! Sure brought back memories of my visits over many years on business and pleasure. Always loved staying at "The Inn at Mill Falls" and eating at Hart's Turkey Farm. Wish I lived closer to make more frequent trips.

Thank you so much for the nice comment! We love the Inn at Mill Falls. It's central and a good "base camp" for seeing the area. I've eaten at Hart's a couple times and really enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!

Hi Mark, My wife and I enjoy your videos. We are heading up from Connecticut and are looking for an on the water, hotel or bed-and-breakfast, on Lake Winnepesaukee that won’t break the bank. Do you have any suggestions for first timers? Thanks, Anthony

Hi Anthony - This reply turned out to be long. I apologize for that, but I wanted to give you some detailed information. Also, I'm so happy to hear that you enjoy my videos and are looking to visit the area. I'm not aware of too many B&Bs directly on the lake, but The Inn at Smith Cove in Gilford comes to mind. I'm not sure if it's technically a B&B, but it's a historic house and not a hotel. I've only seen it from the water, but it looks very nice. Smith Cove (the actual cove) is very busy, and it would be a great spot to watch boats come and go from Fay's Boat Yard and the Lake Winnipesaukee Sailing Association or take a dip in the lake. A very popular and highly rated place is the Ballard House Inn in Meredith, but it's not on the water. Downtown Meredith is a short 2 mile drive away and has free public parking, and much of the town is within walking distance. They have several restaurants, a nice park and the town docks, where we like to go and watch all the boats come and go. There is no swimming area here, though, if you wanted to do that. If your heart isn't set on a bed and breakfast, you might look at Baypoint in Meredith. We have never stayed there, but it's part of the Mill Falls group, which means if you stay at one of their 4 properties in town, you can use the facilities at all of them, including their private swimming areas at Church Landing. We have never stayed at Baypoint, but we have stayed at their other 3 properties, primarily because the rooms at Baypoint used to be setup with a single bed, and we needed 2. They recently renovated everything (last year I think), and it's now amazing. I'm not sure what you consider breaking the bank, but for us, the prices at the Mill Falls properties (and Lake Winnipesaukee in general) have grown beyond our reach, and we've had to find other places to stay. This is why we've started going to Lake George, the 1000 Islands and other places and only go to Lake Winnipesaukee for day trips. That said, the Mill Falls properties are a great place to stay because you can basically park your car once and can walk around and enjoy most of the town. I made a video about the Mill Falls hotels a few years ago and showed some of the shops, which are in one of the properties. Here's a link to the Baypoint. They did. a big remodel in 2018ish and now have rooms with multiple beds. youtu.be/watch?v=j2QeTlc26Bc&t=145s

@@Paul-kd3ui That would be a fun job. It's funny because most people retire to warm climates, but if I could afford it, I'd retire to NH somewhere close to the lake. I've always thought it was a pretty area, but this year really showed me how beautiful it is. Unfortunately, others are discovering it too, and both boat and vehicle traffic is insane now.

Mark: We traded some messages back and forth on the video on boats you did. The GYPSY a 48' Shane Trimmership went into the water earlier this week. The new owner knows about our communications. He would be open to you seeing the boat but I wouldn't want to put his personal information on such a public site. If you're interested I'm sure we could come up with some way of getting you the information. I'd love to send you some pictures as it is an extraordinary boat.
@MarkDHall Жыл бұрын
So you're not going to believe this. We pulled into the ramp today to launch our WaveRunners, and I noticed a large white and natural-colored wooden boat tied up to the dock. Hmm, that looks like the GYPSY, I said. I didn't see anyone around from a distance, so after launching, I headed over to the boat while my son parked the Jeep, and sure enough, GYPSY...and the owner had just returned. I confirmed the boat and who he was - we shared numbers, and I took some videos of it from the outside. Then, he got swamped (not literally) by a couple boats that had just pulled in, so I left him there to talk with the admirers. The video isn't great because the sun was still low in the sky, and it was kind of shadowy, but I got a couple. He told me about a possible upcoming antique boat show in the fall. Would love to see that! Thank you for the heads up.

@@MarkDHall WAY COOL!!! And Rus is a great guy! Worked very hard to continue the exterior work that I started on the interior. I think I mentioned the short video on KZbin called "Shane Trimmership GYPSY" about 5 minutes that I put together with a friend while I still had the boat in Seattle, Wa. It's worth taking a look at. Look forward to seeing your piece with the GYPSY included! I've subscribed so hopefully I will see it soon?

@@63bplumb I'm hoping soon, but I'm falling behind a bit. My computer is getting slow and has been crashing a lot, which doesn't help. Honest timeframe. I'm guessing 2-3 weeks. Hoping sooner, though!

@@63bplumb I found another video from 2022 of the GYPSY out boating on the lake. I am so backlogged on videos that I need to create but I definitely want to include some of the boat because it's so cool. Unfortunately, autumn was cold and rainy in New England, so I never got to see the GYPSY again this year.

@@MarkDHall Mark: GREAT to hear from you! Happy Holidays to your whole family! And the Very Best of New Year! Russ has done SO much with the GYPSY I never even considered! He sends me updates and hopefully I plan on coming out around Columbus Day next year. He sent one that a homeowner sent him where he is going by their lake house in big weather. Actually, pretty amazing. Would love to get it to you if there was a way of not having our information all over the internet. If you know of a way, please advise as I have it on my phone.

you are obviously a videographer who got rejected by the Mount Washington Steamship company to be pais since you omitted saying theit name. And what happened to Center Harbor in your road trip video? BTW, your Son looks mad. He obviously doesnt like you leaving the Lakes Region. JMHO.
@MarkDHall3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. I'm not a professional videographer and don't get paid to make content for anyone. I just make videos for fun of places we visit. As for Center Harbor, we only visited a couple towns on this trip and didn't stop there. I'm thinking of making a mini series that highlights each of those towns around the lake, but I don't know if the footage I have is good enough. As far as my son, you're correct. He doesn't want to move and said he'd probably stay if we do. We don't live in NH, but we try to visit a few times each year, and he loves the lakes region. I think it would be great to live there, but houses are out of our range. Winter would be tough, but you can always throw on another layer. I think it would be awesome to work at a marina and be close to the lake all year long.
