I don't hate the idea of them; I like to see technology develop. I just don't see what advantages they have over non-foldables that are worth the additional cost. They're a stepping-stone on the way to something worthwhile but not worthwhile themselves at this stage.

Streets need that OnePlus Open full review but thank you for including it because it still competes even in 2024. I have 3 of these (can't get the honor V3 here because murica) and I can say that the Open is still the king. They're all fantastic but OnePlus did something magical with the Open.

@mortiefish1 I think the Honor takes the best pictures. As for videos, I think it's Samsung. Pixel is a good all-rounder, but not for night pictures/videos.

Thanks for being one of the only reviewers who mentioned the reduced price of the Open. Bored of seeing reviewers doing long-term reviews and always showing RRPs, when often there's some discount/trade in available. OnePlus made such a killer phone and it's a whole year older than the rest. At that price, clear win.

The OnePlus and Honor are at the right price (with discount applied). I would go for one of these. Pixel and Samsung are expensive, I will just buy a Tablet and use that as my second device.

I have the P9PF and the ZF6 and i also tried but returned the 1+O. The 1+O has buggy software that really bothered me. The P9PF can also be buggy at times and the rounded corners actually cut off part of the ui when unfolded. Google makes the OS but doesn't optimize it for the P9PF which is ridiculous. The ZF6 has the best software, is more optimized but still has some issues when unfolded. The narrow outer screen on ZF6 is also hard to type on. The ZF6 is the most polished of the 3.

I have the 9 Pro Fold. Absolutely loving it. Major upgrade over the original Pixel Fold. Just wish it had the same camera system as the 9 Pro. I also have a Fold5 but I didn't see the point in upgrading to the Fold6. Will wait for the 7 or maybe even the 8.

OPO user here. The android 15 update made a great phone even better. Portrait shots are super 😍. In January 2025, the OPO wins against the P9PF and the ZF6. Yet to get my hands on the honor V6

1+O is my absolute favorite. Love this Beast. Charging is super fast, camera outstanding quality but the OS is not as good due to a lack of upgrades but it still does it's job. It's my first foldable the problem now is I just can't go back to a single screen.

Torn between the Honor Magic V3 and the Z Fold 6. Currently on the Z Fold 3 so I know anything is an upgrade. But like you said, with the pricing, it's not something I want to rush into. Watching currently on my Pixel 9 Pro Fold (in the $US) I miss the one UI interface from the Z Flip/Fold but I really wanted a foldable that had a normal size screen on the front when closed and quality cameras for a foldable relative to the main line series phones. If Samsung makes the Fold 7 more in line with the 9 Pro Fold & One Plus Open design wise & cam bump I'll go back to the Fold 7 for sure.

I had z fold 4 and sold it to buy honor magic v3 and all is good with magic v3 but man the Eco system of Samsung is unbeatable and Samsung phone compatible with everything while honor phone are limited For example since I travel alot so I need tracker with my luggage and only Samsung has it amoung they others Also dexcom G7 for diabetic ppl only compatible with iPhone or Samsung

Watching on Honor V3 and it's incredible, really enjoying it and came from Samsung s24 ultra. The Honor version of Dex on xreal glasses works perfectly but the phone is so slim, and I mean as slim as my partner's iPhone, folded! Unfolded, it's as thin as the usb c port! Amazing tech. One thing to bear in mind is the cases in Samsung fold are horrible, the factory shipped Honor Magic V3 case works a treat and is included as is super fast wireless charging and the fastest wired charging, so good to refill if you've done a lot of screen time.

The main problem is durability. I've had several Samsung Folds and I've had to replace the screen several times. They start to split along the crease after a few months. I've gone off them.

I can't move away from Samsung for one simple reason: different home screens for inner and outer screens. It blows my mind no other manufacturer does this. You have different use cases for front and inner screen, or else you wouldn't want a foldable. So you need seperate home screens.

Until manufacturers come up with a device that has an invisible crease on the screen [ if it’s possible ] I wouldn’t consider buying one , who wants a visible crease ruining their screen experience.

When you use the phone you won’t see the crease. It is visible only when you hold the phone at an angle. Try it personally and you will see.

I went for the V3 and love it mostly. The camera is a huge letdown, and the software feels a bit rough around the edges (it's totally usable and feels less boated than OneUI, but I wish it had OxygenOS)

I've had the Samsung, Pixel and now I have the V3.....agree with other commenters that the V3 is nearly always discounted....mine was £1299.....serious value for money. Even though I've not tried the Oneplus Open i think the V3 is the winner for me...its a technical marvel and its slimness is undeniable.....I do agree that Samsung need to stop being so lazy snd make major changes for the Z Fold 7...although even if its another iterative update it will still sell as Samsung enjoys a loyal following.

I am using the Z-Fold 6. Honestly I feel Samsung has been just plain old lazy & complacent. They have been siting on their laurels & expect users to bow to their laziness. I left Nokia after their laziness brought them down h I see Samsung is blatantly doing g thr same thing. While they pay lips service, the other folding phones have been including amazing cameras & making strides in their products. This will be my last Samsung device & for the price they are charging.. I feel their value of purchase is not worth it. Samsung cannot boast that they have the best device of the class in the market. Take it from a Samsung fan since the S3 series till Fold 3 & now Fold 6. 👎👎👎
