Few question if you have time : - Is your compost certified organic, and where do you source it? - How do you comply with the 170kg of N/ha organic regulation? - And with one greenhouse, how do you work you crops rotation to respect the organic regulation (tomatoes after tomatoes)? I'm organic small farmer in south est of France, and those are the key problem that I have with my certifier that stop me to go no did and event smaller :/ Thx Moreno ! Hi Moreno! interesting videos. I'm not a commercial grower but I do use a planter drill auger to create the holes for the plants. Much easier and faster. if you have a battery operated drill, you just need to buy the auger head. Looking forward to your May video.

Hey there! I can imagine that it can be quite easy with that indeed! But as I mention in the video, it's no big deal for us to create the holes for the tomatoes and heat loving crops. Since we're not planting them often (only a couple of days per year), it doesn't take us much time anyways. Thank you for your input:)

Hi Moreno, nice video! I like that you are talking about body position/posture. I agree with some of it but most important is keeping your lower back straight. If you have the flexibility streched out legs and a straight lower back can also be great. (I would strongly recommend Yoga!) Also you need a longer handle for your rake! You want to be standing up straight with the chest out while working with long handled tools..

Bending forward is very valuable for people who have very flexible hamstrings and calves, because then their back is protected, but definitely NOT for people who have tight legs back muscles, tendons and ligaments indeed ! Personaly, I enjoy gardening on my knees.

Your system is much better, especially with tomatoes. I always end up with too many seedling for the spacing they suggest here: 1 1/2 - 2 feet apart.

I am starting my farm on what used to be forested land and is now cleared land. There are many root systems still in the land that was excavated by a machine and now I am working on getting rid of all of the big roots and waiting on my ground covers that will help in killing off all seeds and life underneath. Do you think, growing in these conditions, that I will have a big problem with competing trees/ root systems and also is the soil in a forest, going to be too hard to grow in, due to the high fungal matter? Hey Bob, if you keep your body's position right, there shouldn't be any pain. Some muscle soreness from repetitive work is normal, pain isn't. I've never really done yoga so I wouldn't be able to say whether it could help, but I can imagine that it can help! Thank you for your input :)

Hey! 1: Well rotted cow manure & Green waste compost. 2: I'd recommend you look into the "Berkeley Method" of making compost. It's the fastest way you'll be able to get usable compost.

Merci Georges! I do the occasional hand weeding, but that's it. We don't use any other tool for weeding anymore. Though initially we used precision hoes. Now the compost has sufficiently smothered out the existing weeds. The only weeds we have now are flying in from neighboring properties. These are easily managed by hand. For tomatoes in the high tunnel we put a 5cm layer of well rotted cow manure, topped off with another 5/10cm of compost on top. No other mulch. We'll still be growing quite lots of crops below the tomatoes and cucumbers (interplanted), so mulch (other than compost) is not always very practical. Thanks for the constructive feedback! I couldn't agree more about the microphone! Haven't had much time to look into it, but will surely get one as soon as possible. PS: Hope you don't mind my response in English!
