Market segmentation examples for SaaS - how to use market segments to get to product market fit.
If you're building a B2B SaaS startup, and you've got a product, and you've got revenues, you're now probably working to figure out how to accelerate your SaaS sales and marketing efforts to drive growth.
There are a lot of knobs and dials to turn. Do you double down on Marketing? Brand? Demand Gen? Should you build out a Sales Team? Would they be inside reps? Field reps? Who should be doing prospecting?
Turns out... all of these questions become infinitely easier to answer when you get clarity into ONE thing: the market segment you want to serve.
In this video, I share my favorite market segmentation targeting and positioning examples for SaaS and the framework I use to figure out which market segment to go after.
Having a solid STP marketing strategy can be a powerful way to get your SaaS offering in front of your desired ICP.

YES, great video. Based on it I am doing some things right and need to correct a lot more that are wrong. I am a solo startup founder for Empowerate. With the help of my tribe I have one enterprise customer with 8 industrial sites using my deployed solution. I am transitioning from deployed service to SaaS model. FYI- We meet at IPNLaunchpad in 2016.

What is the definition of mid-market size company that you are mentioning to avoid in this video?

The official definition of mid-market is quite broad. It is annual revenues of $10 million to $1 billion. Within this there is "lower mid market" -- companies that are small has budget and are still nimble and "upper mid market" -- companies that are closer to size and practices of an enterprise and has very large budgets. It's the middle of this "mid market" that you want to avoid because you may end up going after companies with small deal sizes and budgets but sales cycles as long as upper mid market / enterprise.
