If you exit it and see positive results then I would keep it until you are getting at least 50+ conversions in about 7-days. If you start to see you are getting more than that, then I would consider pivoting to a Purchase/Conversion event.

Great video! Question for you - I am just using ads to have people opt-in to my lead generator to get their emails. Do you think it's okay to use "Traffic" as the goal then so I don't have to deal with the learning phase? I did my first FB ads a few months ago and never had to do the learning phase, so I am finding this whole process very confusing and expensive! (Spending money without really getting leads!)
@MarketHustle4 жыл бұрын
So actually, the learning phase impacts all campaigns (I confirmed with Facebook after I made the video), the difference is that it is harder to exit with a conversion campaign as it is more of a direct action. If your goal is leads, then I would run a conversion campaign optimizing for that objective. So if you have a thank you page, you want to tag that with a 'Lead' standard event and optimize for that.

@@cozey9726 CBO is campaign budget optimization and does not have anything to do with the Learning Phase. Also, the learning phase is never skipped -- it is by default for all conversion campaigns accounts. Hi, i get sales on my website from different channel. So is that the fb ad sets only capture the sales from the ad set it self regardless u had more then 100 sales in our website?
@MarketHustle3 жыл бұрын
They only capture sales from users on the platforms that have been exposed to your ads. If someone buys from you and has not seen/clicked on an ad within the conversion window (usually 28-day click, 1 day view, but now changing to 7-day click), then you would be track that sale on Facebook, you would want to use Google Analytics for other channels.

How would that many conversions be possible for a service business. if running 1-2 campaigns with multiple ad sets it would be impossible to get that many leads in a 7 day span. If im missing something or any insight you can give that would be great!
@MarketHustle3 жыл бұрын
Even if you don't exit the learning phase, as long as you are getting leads at a reasonable rate your campaigns will be fine. If you are able to increase spend and get more leads the data will help the system learn and better optimize, but if you are happy with the results then nothing to "fix".

@MarketHustle3 жыл бұрын
Hey There- hope that it starts to ramp up again! Also, if you have not exited the learning phase but are getting good volume of conversions, it's ok to keep running existing ad-set and not reset. If you reset, make sure it is intentional with a new approach (i.e. more money, different conversion event, larger budget) but reseting with no changes will likely give you the same result.

Hey man, it's been a couple of months and I'm wondering if you could make a update to this video. I've read through the comments and I see many people have questions about their ad sets saying delivery is "active" instead of "Learning" and I also have the same problem. Please ask your Facebook rep about this issue. Also just because it says active doesn't mean its learning because I've spent over $500 on conversions and seen no results. I also just got off with a Facebook marketing expert and they still couldn't tell me why this happens. At this point if everyone that has their delivery on "active" just means we are throwing money out the door, as going through Learning phase will improve CPA. If you could solve this issue, that would be amazing!
@MarketHustle4 жыл бұрын
I keep telling people, the same thing -- the learning phase only matters in a certain circumstance. This is what matters -- most people will need to just default to 7-day click 1-day view, and if your ads are not delivering then just reset the ad-set, but ensure you have enough budget to get about 50 conversions in a week, if you do not your ads will likely still delivery.
@MarketHustle4 жыл бұрын
So I spoke with my reps, and you are right. The Learning Phase applies to all objectives! It is just the hardest to exit for Conversion Objectives. I am going to make an updated video soon!

Hey there-- So it sounds like you were running a conversion campaign to get online sales and after you recreated your ad you are not seeing the same level of performance. I want to say that if the creative is the same that it is not the fact that you recreated it. When you run a conversion campaign you typically see your cheapest sales/acquisition upfront as the algorithm will prioritize the users in the audience it can get for the cheapest cost and as it exhaust that pool it will almost always increase steadily in price.

You might be able to see it on other campaign objectives but it does not have an impact the way it does for conversion campaigns. If you are not exiting the Learning Phase and have restricted bids that do allow you to generate over 50 conversions then yes you might have to increase (however there are always trade-offs to consider: For example, will exiting the learning improve CVR where as you can justify the increase in bid, these are all things you must test).

If you are unable to get 50 conversion in a week, but your campaign is performing then no need to make any changes. If you are having delivery issues, like your budget is not being spent, then its when I would consider making changes. Some conversion campaigns never reach the learning phase, but drive purchases and are profitable. What audience do you recommend: Look A Like 1% (120.000) or interests 3mil+
@MarketHustle4 жыл бұрын
If you have a large budget to effective reach the larger audience at 2-3x frequency a week then go that route (if what I just said doe not make sense then watch my video on Audience Size-to-budget ration), this will likely cost 500K+ to effective reach -- otherwise make your audiences smaller so you can increase your frequency (people need to see you ads multiple times to push them down the funnel) a large audience with a small budget means most people will likely not even see it 1x.

Well you wouldn't find that as the above is a grey area. Also, unless you are scaling and saturating your audience you likely would not see the major implications of these settings. To be honest, 99% of Facebook Advertisers are fine with a 7-day click 1-day view. Hope that helps!

Great Work! This video is very helpfull!! But i have a question..Please help me if you can! What type of conversion window are you suggest for high price items (100-150€)? I usually use the fb default window "7 day click and 1 day view", i have about 7-10 conversions per day, i want 7 days to take 50 conversions and exit from the learning phase BUT from the THIRD day my campaign is "learning limited". should i use only "7 days click" window? or to do something else? *my daily budget is about 50-70€ and i run only 1 campaign with 1 or 2 adsets Thanks in advance and Keep up the good work1
@MarketHustle4 жыл бұрын
For high ticket items, you want a 7-day click and 1-day view. Can you confirm that after you reached 50 conversions within 7-days the the learning phase completes? The learning phase does not always complete (for different reasons) even if you reach ~50 conversions. However, if you are getting delivery + good performance then it is only a diagnostic tool and I would not worry too much.

I am new to FB. I don’t see any ads populating my FB page. If someone has a car detail business running a special I suppose I wont see the ad. Suppose they want people to read their ad then think to themself hey, I should think about getting my car detailed. This business is totally near me I should give them a call. But NO! It seems FB ads are ONLY GOOD for someone already thinking of getting their car detailed and searching “car detailer” That is a VERY POOR METHOD OF ADVERTISING. That’s more like a phone book listing than it is an advertisement. This type of advertising doesn’t plant a seed in anyone’s thoughts because nobody sees the ad that doesn’t already have an interest. So, I have to search “car detailer” first before I see their ad? That’s just ridiculous. That defeats the purpose of an ad. I would expect all ads to appear to everyone like a newspaper ad will do. I mean seriously. What’s up?
