Do we wait till the campaigns are more optimized or do we just stop them after 3 days if they did poorly? For us it does well one day, then sucks for 2 days, and then better again on 4th day
@SamPiliero17 күн бұрын
1) yes, it works for lower budgets. just consolidate your campaigns more-don't over-split the budget. 2) give it at least 5-7 days to stabilize. if it’s still below breakeven after that, cut it. how’s your CPA compared to your target during those swings?

Thanks for posting this. 2 questions for you: 1. If testing multiple ads with slight variations like the hook, say 5 different ads, in your testing CBO campaign are you putting all those ads within 1 ad set? Or are you doing 1 ad set per ad? I assume it's the former and you're letting fb allocate the budget and assuming whatever fb gives high spend and high roas is a winner... 2. Lets say you find 2 winning ads for an audience/interest. Lets say they are practically the same ad but different hooks. Lets say the same audience/interest works for those ads. When moving those ads to the scaling campaign, are you putting both ads in 1 ad set with the winning audience or 2 different ad sets with the same audience/interest in both of those ad sets?
@SamPiliero4 күн бұрын
1. correct, put all 5 ads in one ad set. let fb distribute the budget and focus on the ones it spends on with a strong ROAS. are you finding that fb picks a winner quickly or spreads spend evenly for too long? 2. keep both winning ads in one ad set with the same audience. splitting them into separate ad sets would compete against each other. how are you tracking performance differences between similar hooks?

1. Thanks for answering! Seems quickly actually. Usually 1 wins by a large amount over the others 2. Thanks for answering this too! I track using hyros. And use the same decision making frameowrk as you. high spend and high roas Have 2 more quick questions for you Question 3A. This one is regarding ASC campaigns and countries…. I advertise to us, ca, nz, au, and uk. I find best performance in us/ca - SIGNIFICANTLY better than the other countries. Therefore, in terms of structure, I was thinking of doing 1 ASC campaign for US + CA and 1 ASC campaign for UK+NZ+AU and 1 CBO broad prospecting campaign. Do you think this is a good move or should I have 1 ASC campaign with all 5 countries I advertise to within it OR 1 ASC for the US, 1 ASC for CA, and so on for each of the 5 countries? Question 3B. Similar question to the one above. For the broad ad sets within the prospecting campaign, should I just do 1 ad set with US/CA, 1 with the others, or 1 with US and 1 with CA etc. What do you recommend if my performance is best in US/CA and both are US is a little bit better than CA but both are SIGNIFICANTLY better than the other 3 countries? Question 4. You said you need to have a daily pull for your purchasers within your ASC campaign. I have my customers on an excel sheet. On a weekly basis I update that excel sheet and export it as a csv then update my custom audience of purchasers within fb for my exclusions. Is that okay? If not, do you have a suggestion for ppl that use excel? Is there some kind of zappier zap for example?

hey man I'd be really thankful if you clarify these doubts for me, You mention we put creatives inside the prospecting CBO in adset packs of 3-5 ads in each. when we do so, wouldn't the daily budget of the ads mess something up? limited budget and additional 5 ads? should I increase the budget? I'm looking to set my daily adspend at $50, should I increase/decrease this when I put a new pack? how often should I put new packs in? also, if the business is new, do I have to warm up by driving traffic campaigns or is that an unprofitable old practice now? also how exactly do you graduate your creatives? just copy and paste everything into the ASC? I would be really glad if you could answer these questions.
@SamPiliero16 сағат бұрын
good questions. here is the breakdown: 1. for a $50 daily spend, stick to smaller adset packs (3 ads max). don’t stretch the budget by cramming in too many ads. only increase the budget if you’re confident the account can sustain it profitably. 2. add new packs when performance plateaus or every 5-7 days if you’ve got fresh creatives. watch performance closely after adding. 3. skip traffic campaigns unless your goal is data collection only. they’re outdated for building conversions. go straight to conversion objectives. 4. to graduate creatives, yes-copy your top performers into the ASC or scale them in a winning campaign. what’s holding you back from scaling past $50?

Thanks again for the video!

glad the video helped! if your ABOs are working well, don’t rush to switch. test a CBO alongside your ABO campaigns to see how it performs. let the CBO prove itself first. scaling a CBO? i’d increase the budget slowly-10-20% every few days if it's profitable. adding more winners works too but make sure it doesn’t disrupt the performance. for ASC, only switch when you’ve identified 3-5 solid ads that are proven winners across ABO or CBO. how confident are you in your current winners?

Hi Sam, great video :) Thanks ! I have 2 questions 1. if I identified the winning ads and add them to ASC and the intererst ad set, they would be active 3x. Won't they cannibalise each other in the auction? 2. should ad formats such as images, dpa, carousel each be in their own ad sets or can they be used as different ad creatives in 1 ad set? Regarding DPA, is a separate campaign with same structure recommended here?

When you add in the new creative 'packs' would you only recommend using broad instead of interest ad sets even if the interest ad sets are performing better?

Super interesting ! Question, for interest targeting, let’s say for pack1 you launch a duplicate and test a specific interest. That interest doesn’t generate any meaningful sales. When you launch pack 2 creatives, how do you determine whether interest from pack 1 was a complete failure or just didn’t particularly translate well with pack 1 creatives vs pack 2 creatives ?

Quick question regarding the Prospecting Campaign. You suggest to test new creatives into NEW ad sets instead of putting them inside existing running ad sets. My question is, What do we do with the interest-based ad sets that were performing good but are not so much anymore due to the ad dying down? Do you relaunch new ad sets with single interests or combine them?
@SamPiliero2 ай бұрын

@@SamPiliero Ah ok, so once you have a proven "graduated" creative, you move them to both, the ASC and also to an interest-based ad set. So you end up having multiple of these interest ones and putting new ad sets in them then. Just not putting new ad sets inside BROAD ad sets.

A lot of people have been preaching 3:2:2 setup from Prof Charlie for a long time. I used to use it when DCT allowed breakdowns but with the transition to Flexible it doesn't allow breakdown of image/video. They fixed the breakdown by headline/description it seems recently. Flexible is a no go in its current state. You are giving meta the ability to modify your ads, crop, edit, do whatever they want. For creative testing it really depends on how much you are spending. For a smaller account id recommend adding multiple variations of creatives (3-4 max) in the same ad set and following the metrics as meta decides what to scale. For a bigger account you can start to go down the rabbit hole of clear a/b testing but I am truly talking 100k plus.
@SamPiliero2 ай бұрын
Hey! Good q. 2 options. 1. Use the multiple primary text/headline options from meta and simply give it 5 and check to see what is spending the most. 2. Break out 2/3 options with unique primary text/headlines in the same ad set and watch to see where meta allocates. You do not need operate copy as a hardcore science unless you are spending over 100k p/m

Have you run into the issue of Facebook Audiences based on website actions such as add to cart or purchase not populating the number of customers but still saying it's ready to use? All our audiences based on actions taken on IG or FB or video views for example populate in full but anything related to the website does not and google indicates it's somewhat of a common issue. Any fix?
@SamPiliero28 күн бұрын
Yes, this is a common frustration. It often relates to pixel tracking issues or discrepancies between Facebook's platform and your website's event data. Here are a few steps you can take: 1. Check your pixel's health: Make sure the Facebook pixel is correctly installed and firing on all relevant pages. You could use the Facebook Pixel Helper to diagnose any issues. 2. Event setup: Ensure that all your events, especially those related to website actions like "add to cart" and "purchase," are set up properly. Consider using Facebook's Event Setup Tool to verify the actions are being tracked. 3. Match parameters: Verify that the parameters for these actions match across your website and Facebook. Any discrepancies can lead to the audience not populating correctly. 4.Custom conversions: Try creating custom conversions in the Events Manager and see if they are tracking correctly. This sometimes helps resolve the issue. 5. Cache and scripts: Ensure that there are no caching issues or script blocks on your website that might prevent the pixel from firing. If you've tried all these and the issue persists, it might be worth reaching out to Facebook Support. What have you already tried to fix this issue?

@@SamPiliero I had luck with your method a few weeks back. Once I moved anything that was doing ok to the scale campaign it would all tank and not perform. I had to turn off everything since nothing was performing with any type of conversions for the past 10 days. I was just spending with no sales.

great video sam. what im confused about is why is the prospecting budget higher than scale budget? Isn't scale campaign supposed to have higher budget? Or do we vertically add budget to the scale campaign every 3 days? When do we add more budgets to both prospecting and scale campaign? Since with prospecting campaign, we will add more adsets to it to find winning ads, it will start to dilute the original budget..
@SamPiliero16 күн бұрын
good question. the prospecting budget is higher because that’s where you’re testing broadly to find new winners. scaling happens after you’ve proven what works. don’t add budget to scaling every 3 days unless ROAS is solid and consistent-otherwise, you’ll burn through cash. for prospecting, keep testing new ad sets but don’t dilute too much-turn off what’s not working fast. how do you decide when to kill an ad set?
@thewilliamjrful16 күн бұрын
@@SamPiliero I see, thanks for the update Sam. Personally I kill an adset if it's not hitting breakeven ROAS every 3/5 days, and not getting good CPC if it's a fresh adset. So you are saying increase budget on the scale campaign every 3 days if its hitting good ROAS, and for prospecting campaign just kill ads/ad sets so it doesnt dilute (instead of vertically increasing budget?) Right now using the strategy you provided I created 1 ad set with multiple ads to test creative. In the video you mentioned let it run for 2 weeks then only kill the ads/ad sets? Or should we do that daily? Or 2 weeks even if results is bad, isn't that wasting ad spend? Or did u mean, only for graduating the winning adsets to scale campaign we do it every 2 weeks, but adjustments killing ads etc every 3 days? Also Sam, using what you just mentioned, logically in the long run basically scale campaign is bound to overtake prospecting campaign in terms of budget allocation right? Regarding prospecting, you started off with 1 broad interest and 1 targeted interest, then you mentioned that every ad testing would start with a new BROAD audience. What if the targeted interest is working better? Do we still go with broad interest when duplicating in the campaign? Or do we duplicate the interest thats working?
@SamPiliero15 күн бұрын
great questions. let’s break it down: 1. **budget increases**: for scale campaigns, yes-if ROAS is strong, bump the budget every 3 days by 20-30%. for prospecting, avoid scaling budgets vertically; focus on killing underperforming ads/ad sets to keep the campaign lean. 2. **ad testing timeline**: let creatives run for at least 5-7 days, not 2 weeks, to collect enough data. if something’s tanking your ROAS, cut it sooner. 2 weeks is more about graduating the best-performing creatives to scale campaigns, not letting bad ones drain budget. 3. **prospecting vs scale budget**: over time, scale campaigns should naturally get more budget because they’re fed the best-performing creatives. that’s how you drive efficient growth. 4. **broad vs targeted audiences**: if targeted interest is crushing broad, it’s fine to duplicate that interest into new ad sets for further testing. however, you’ll eventually want to retest in broad to keep reaching new, bigger audiences. how are you handling creative iteration for your top-performing ads?
@thewilliamjrful15 күн бұрын
Thanks Sam very insightful 🙏 For creatives I’m making 1 main video and testing first 3 seconds clips so have 4 creatives each time. And images testing different variations too. Then with headlines and copy to eventually find the best of everything. How does this sound? Any suggestions? Btw you reckon it’s best to run engagement to the ads to get likes and shares for social proof? I’ve always done that but it’s quite costly and not sure if it actually affects results but it has always worked for me

hello brother in terms of vertically scaling CBO how do you go about it and abo if you do it? 10% every 3 days ? to stay on the safe side and prevent fatigue? cause brother I would rather go slow see no drop in performance than scale with high percentages, waste money, and wait for the algorithm to ''stabilize/optimize'' let me know you thoughts on this?
@SamPilieroКүн бұрын
for cbo, scaling 10-20% every 2-3 days works well if performance is stable. abo is trickier-best to duplicate the ad set with a higher budget instead of raising it. have you tried duplicating instead of scaling slowly?

Hey Sam about "supporting ads", (low spending high roas) do we should leave on just supporting ads that have a good roas and then switch off ads that are spending every day but have a really bad roas , in a profitable campaign?
@SamPilieroАй бұрын
No. Supporting ads only do well when you have high spenders creating your average and building multiple touchpoints. You should definitely pause ads that are low/mid spend and under ROAS targets.

Hi Sam, great video! I was just wondering for the CBO campaign structure. When you add new ads to this campaign through new broad adsets, you didn't mention what to do with the interest adsets. Do you need to add the new ads in new interest adsets as well? Also how and when should I increase my budget for the campaigns?

Suppose in the first 7 days of the Prospecting CBO campaign I test new creatives and I have about 5 winning creatives. I put these 5 creatives into the ASC campaign to scale, and at the same time I keep those creatives in the Prospecting CBO campaign. I continue to test new creatives by adding new ads to the Prospecting CBO campaign and suppose in the next 7 days, I have 5 winning creatives again. So this time I continue to add new winning creatives to the ASC campaign or do I need to create a new ASC campaign with these 5 new winning creatives (as a repeat of the process) A little debate: Suppose in the ASC campaign with a scale of $1000/day is performing well with the first 5 winning creatives, if I add new winning creatives to it, will there be a risk of damaging the performance?
@SamPiliero13 күн бұрын
good question. if your asc campaign is scaling well, adding new creatives can risk disrupting its performance. instead, test the new 5 winning creatives in a *separate* asc campaign first. if they perform, you can merge them into the main asc campaign later. how are your current asc campaigns holding up with scaling?
@dannybui343513 күн бұрын
@@SamPiliero Previously I only used CBO and used Flexible ads and added new content to scale and test, in other words Only One Campaign Strategy, but it seems that the data is not consistent when adding new content to the same campaign and then it is not stable, during the week there are days when Roas is very good but I can lose everything the next day, and always in a state of anxiety that I don't know what tomorrow will be and I can't scale beyond $500/day After your sharing, maybe I will be flexible to use one ASC and more than one ASC. Multiple ASC if I plan to scale quickly, but with one ASC I will not often and too hastily add new winning creative even though I already have it, but when the performance drops I will add more to improve the campaign's Roas

70% Manual Prospecting Campaign and 20% ASC+ Scale Campaign? I thought it was the opposite when you first introduced this structure for 2024? Or did I get that mixed up? Also, can you do a video on how to scale that ASC+ scale campaign- like when to scale and how? Thank you!

Thanks for the vid! Question…how are you ‘graduating’ into scale campaign? My experience has been ads that perform in creative testing campaigns on smaller budget ..when moves to scale campaigns ..no longer perform the same. Is there a difference between setting up at ad level and using post ID vs duplicating at ad level into existing campaign. I’ve tried both ways and setting up new ad with exact creative and copy and it doesn’t perform anywhere close to testing (same audience just higher budget). Any tips? Thank you!
@SamPilieroАй бұрын
You only graduate winning ads with top spend and high roas, not just cherry picking top roas. duplicating into an ASC is similar to copy/pasting post id because you keep the engagement

depends on the goal. for leads with a tight budget like 30 euro, i'd test a simple campaign first instead of jumping straight into cbo or advantage+. keep it lean with 1-2 ad sets and let it optimize. what has been working for you so far?
