You might mention that the Feds explained on PBS, that raising it slower is best for the economy. As in my industry, if you give too high a dose of pain medicine, for example, you can’t take it back. Think about how a stable economy, with better designs, newer information/research, better technologies, materials, farming techniques, supply chain management, and reduced price-gouging and anti-competitive behaviour looks like… The Internet is allowing the globe to pool our knowledge. And, even better, for those on “the right” print and spend means tax cuts - assuming good , efficient govt. And, for those on the left, that’s how you ensure strong govt at a time where businesses are are getting bigger than our own governments. And, assuming you want the government you vote for to have power to prevent the excesses of businesses only focused on profit maximisation (regardless of the harm they cause), then that will push our governments ever closer, internationally, as business itself gets more global. It’ll be the only way for democratic governments - beholden to “the many” - stay stronger than business - beholden to the few. And, just for the record, what underlies all of that is one word: TRUST.

It’s good stewardship, and getting inflation down has forced The Fed to move “bigley”. They wouldn’t have moved like that und the Inflation Reduction Act and Infrastructure Acts hadn’t forced them to move. That’s good govt working - for the benefit of all. Add in the housing policies to increase supply - and with a focus on smaller, affordable housing to get people onto the housing ladder, and there’s a positive future for many, and even with lower interest rates house prices can stabilize and become more affordable if they can keep wage inflation above housing/price inflation…
